Why does Izzy try so hard to be an anime character?

No, but Texhnolyze, Monster, Genocyber, Steins Gate, Death Note, Code geass, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the shell, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, Legend of the Galactic Heroes are all masterpieces beyond your level of comprehension.

Cmon ... You gotta watch Dragon Ball (Z). Watch the remastered one, Dragon Ball Kai, that's high-def and filler-free. Anyone into martial arts is bound to find that show a masterpiece

I tried to watch it almost 30 years ago and I didn't get the fascination then, and being 30 years older hasn't helped that...still love you though sir lol.

why does everyone give Izzy shit for anime? Mark Hunt literally dyed his hair blonde and has the nickname "Super Samoan" in honor of DBZ and Super Saiyans. Josh Barnett plays fucking Magic the Gathering for fucks sake. you guys watch too much movies and try to box people into categories. there's a lot of fighters who are into anime and video games and all kinds of other nerdy shit, that doesn't mean they wouldn't sleep you in seconds if you were feeling froggy.
 
Nothing wrong with that, he's young and there is some old school anime that's pretty damn awesome.

I'd rather him lean into that than the cringe race-baiting. At least with this he's being authentic which is appealing. I'm guessing the Israel hate comes from his more youthful behavior but it's a hell of a lot more tolerable than McGregor's shitfest or Khabib's tendency to attack people in the crowd
