Opinion "Why do Liberals Think Trump Supporters are Stupid"

Sure buddy. When all the swing states vote red, that should tell you you’ve lost your way and focus on cleaning your own side of the street before trying to “educate” people who are smarter than you.
One major reason Trump won the election besides lying was a vast majority who voted are like the avatar you are using fir this forum . Lol

It definitely tells me that we need to improve our messaging. Whippy’s post is a perfect example: he lists a whole bunch of reasons why “smart people” voted for Trump, and every single one of those reasons is factually wrong. We accomplished a ton of stuff that the average American seems totally unaware even happened.

On the flip side, Trump ran a typical authoritarian-style message that historically plays well with the masses, but that anyone who’s ever cracked open a history book should see right through. Unfortunately, not many Americans have cracked open a history book.
Everything about Trump that we warned about is coming to pass, just like we said.
Some people wanted that authoritarianism, but anyone who voted Trump because they thought he’d do great things for the economy or middle class done fucked up, I don’t see how that’s even arguable.

Prices of shit are sky high, thousands of middle class Americans are out of work, farmers are being hurt badly, teacher pay is in real trouble, the stock market is rocky…thanks a ton, “smart guy.” You guys really came through for us.

<JennieThumbsUp>

I’m trying to educate you so you won’t make dumb voting choices again, and the rest of us won’t have to suffer through tariffs and mass layoffs to fund tax cuts for billionaires.

You voted/supported for Kamala Harris... you don't get to cast stones without being ridiculed.

Saw this on Reddit and thought it was well done:

The following is by Florida writer Adam-Troy Castro, shared by a friend on FB:

'An anguished question from a Trump supporter: "Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?"

The serious answer: Here’s what we really think about Trump supporters - the rich, the poor, the malignant and the innocently well-meaning, the ones who think and the ones who don't...

That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought "Fine."

That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay."

That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, "No problem."

That when he made up stories about seeing muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, "Not an issue."

That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn't care, you chirped, "He sure knows me."

That when you heard him illustrate his own character by telling that cute story about the elderly guest bleeding on the floor at his country club, the story about how he turned his back and how it was all an imposition on him, you said, "That's cool!"

That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw.

That when you heard him brag that he doesn't read books, you said, "Well, who has time?"

That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, "That makes sense."

That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, "Yes!"

That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man's coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, "What a great guy!"

That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, "Thumbs up!"

That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, "That's the way I want my President to be."

That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they're supposed to be regulating and you have said, "What a genius!"

That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, "That's smart!"

That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was the middle of water and you have said, "That makes sense."

That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, "falling in love" with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, "That's statesmanship!"

That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids. has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas - he explains that they’re just “animals” - and you say, “well, ok then.”

That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise.

What you don't get, Trump supporters in 2019, is that succumbing to frustration and thinking of you as stupid may be wrong and unhelpful, but it's also...hear me...charitable.

Because if you're NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations, and most of them are less flattering.'

Less flattering indeed. I just don't get the Trump love, it's strange AF.
Agreed,

From my point of view, thinking of Trump supporters as stupid, deluded, or brainwashed is actually giving them the benefit of the doubt. The alternative to me is just so much worse. The alternative is they all know exactly what they did. They genuinely believe in Trumps vision of America, and in the policies he wants to implement. That, to me, is profoundly more disturbing than a mere stupid or deluded person.

I think that's why I'm so much more disappointed this time around. While Trump will no doubt absurdly try and rewrite this election as the most decisive victory since the nations founding, there is no doubt it was a clean, decisive win. A popular vote win and an electoral vote win. The majority of my fellow citizens chose him. And we chose him knowing exactly what was on the label.

I am sure in the coming years, someone is going to say, 'Americans deserve better' but we do not. We deserve exactly what we are going to get.

Same way I feel about your side.

Well put. You have articulated the shame a lot of us feel. Quite sad.

My Mrs told me off for saying I have no sympathy with Americans, so I'm glad I've got the support of an American for my lack of empathy lol

You voted/supported for Kamala Harris... you don't get to cast stones without being ridiculed.

Economy already tanking, cutting medicaid, tax cuts for rich, abandoning our allies in Europe and aligning with Russia. Tried to appoint someone to the nations highest law enforcement position who had to resign from congress because of underage human trafficking of a minor for the purposes of sex. Pressured Romania to go easy on the rapists Tate bros and is doing the Saudi's bidding to ruin the PGA tour.

What would have to happen before you would criticize Trump?

Do your Mom and Dad still buy your gas? Because you would not say something so foolish if you had to buy your own.
Gas was 99 cents a gallon when I was 18 retard. Only time it ever went back down at all was during Trump’s first term and not even close to what it was.

I haven’t seen the prices of ANYTHING come down since I’ve been 16. Even at McDonald’s.

Like are you fucking pranking me right now? What universe have you been living in?

Anyway I do still stick to my democrat roots in living wages. Cost of living keeps going up but wages aren’t keeping up. Of course CEO’s are making more and more. I wish democrats had focused more on income inequality instead of identity politics. I bet you do too, cause you wouldn’t have lost lol

Fucking sheep

I would need to wake up in the morning to criticize Trump, which I do it all the time, but your Lock Step Left Cult ass doesn't notice it, because if someone isn't Orange Man Bad all the time, you're butthurt.

Putin or Trump, who do you vote for?
What’s the difference? I’d vote third party or if no third party I’d stay home. Trump would poison the shit out of his enemies and run sham elections too if he thought he could get away with it. Hell, he tried to fix the 2020 election.

My observation over the last decade is that people were tired of both party’s bullshit. While the democrats were fine with their party descending into madness, republicans changed theirs. It’s no longer the party of neocons and RINOs. Was MAGA the best alternative? Probably not, but Trump was the one who was able to bring change, and I’ll still take MAGA over neocons or the current brand of democrats

Luckily, I'm not American, and I get my eggs from local producers for a perfectly reasonable price.

That's what i'm doing these days. I buy most of my eggs , vegetables , fruits , milk and even meat etc from my buddies local farmers and producers around my area.

I am also toying with the idea of buying some lands and start doing it myself to be the most self sufficient possible. It's a win-win

Thank you. That tells me everything I need to know.
