Why did YOU hate World War Z?

If my happiness with a film relied on Hollywood to faithfully adapt everything I've read. I'd never go to a movie.
 
I hated it. I had read the book and it left out so many good parts and just bastardized it.

I was not a fan of the fast moving, fast turning style. Also they were not zombie like at all. More like virus spreaders. Single bite then run on to the next.

Also the ending at the World Health facility was just idiotic.

Only highlight was the scientist falling and blasting himself.
 
Read the book and youll understand why.


Also zombies are fucking boring now. Enough with them
 
It's been a while since I saw the movie but one of my biggest gripes was the zombie ladder shit, it looked so cheesy.

Alright movie for what it was, but it really didn't have any relation to the book. If anything the 2nd movie would probably be closer to the book as most of the book took place after the fall of civilization during the war with the dead.
 
The book was trash but entertaining. The film was entertaining too. I enjoyed both of them.
 
Because like the later Resident Evil games it completely missed the point of the zombie/survival horror genre

Something the Resident Evil movies never had to begin with
 
I thought the movie was cool.

Zombies + brad pitt. Pace was ok as well. I hope the sequel does the reverse (slow then fast).

Can anyone tell me the difference between the book and movie

- cause of the outbreak?
- solution of the outbreak?

The book is a series of interviews who tell their partial version of the zombie apocalypse. The zombies aren't fast. It tells about how society begins to crumble until the reddeker plan comes into effect. The plan is instead of rescuing people you leave them where they are at surrounded by zombies as bait and a delaying tactic so others can survive. The US has to dump all its military technology and goes old school revolutionary war tactics.

The book itself itself isn't very good literary wise, what really makes it stand out is its common sense approach to defeating a world wide zombie outbreak.

The book really took off because its written by the guy who wrote the zombie survival guide and its 10 rules.

  1. Organize before they rise!
  2. They feel no fear, why should you?
  3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
  4. Blades don't need reloading.
  5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
  6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
  7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
  8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
  9. No place is safe, only safer.
  10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on

The rules are pretty awesome, for the most part. A couple of them are stupid.
 
I'm confused. Am I supposed to hate this movie? It wasn't my favorite but I didn't mind it.
 
I hate most zombies movies. So thats why.
 
I may be the outlier here but I loved the movie and absolutely hated the book. It never made sense when people compared the book to the film in this case. If you adapted the novel it would be the most boring film ever. Sure there were some parts that, if adapted, may have made for some great scenes but other wise it wasn't really good for an entire film.
