Why did YOU hate World War Z?

The funny thing is I've seen the movie but I can't remember much about it, it left no impression. So maybe that's the problem.

Because its nothing like the book which was supposed political satire. Instead we just got a PG-13 straight action zombie movie that was clearly trying to capitalize on the zombie craze

It's because the movie sucked a$$..

the only people who enjoyed the film obviously suffer from ADHD and liked the "pace of the film" while simultaneously ignoring all the glaring problems with it.

The film was comically bad, as are the reasons given by some here who enjoyed it.

"I am Legend" has to be in the discussion of worst book-to-movie adaptations.

Admittedly, I have not read "I am Legend" but from what I've heard from other folks, they agree.

I would say:

1) World War Z
2) Congo
3) Hunger Games
4) Dr. Seuss's Grinch (with Jim Carrey)
5) War of the Worlds

are some of the worst adaptations.

I mean seriously....

the stupid "plot twist" in how to make yourself invinsible to Zombies??

I mean c'mon...how can anyone who liked this movie, appreciate that aspect?

I mean, what level of sick do you have to be?

what if you have a common cold?

HIV?

Herpes?

TB?

lazy writing...lazy acting..

seriously, anyone who liked this film, go fu*k yourself.

I didn't read the book but this was more of a virus/zombie imo.

As far as sick level. Well they showed people that seemed to have a terminal illness. Kid with cancer in Israel for example. The "virus" in the zombies didn't want a terminal host.

IF I remember correctly, Brad Pitt infected himself with Typhoid Fever, correct? That's not necessarily terminal...

again, if you read the novel, you'll realize how much of a piece of $hit this film was.

Well from what I've read it's

"A hybridized meningitis strain with components of smallpox and H1N1 that camouflaged the population"

that book is so fucking cool its a shame that they wasted the oportunity in the movie and instead went for that mess they had going on there, and that stupid ending god damn i just despise it

#1 CGI zombies
#2 PG-14 rating
#3 Brad Pitt
#4 Doesn't follow book

I didnt read the book.
but the movie... the plot sucked. it was like TWD, where someone makes a stupid mistake, and then the whole episode they fix it.
in the movie, in Korea, then Jerusalen and then that research facility, if not some monumentally retarded mistakes, it would be a story of Brad Pitt flying around the world.
in Korea, they are supposed to be special forces dudes, or some such shit. they are trying to reach the plane quietly, and he doesnt fucking turn off his phone??? huge action follows.
in Jerusalem, the dumb fucks decided to sing. why? what for? even get a fucking horn for that??? huge action follows.
in the research facility, it is in the fucked up state because some researcher, who probably worked in a lab with deadly biological shit majority of his life, accidentally pokes himself with a needle. really??? more unnecessary action follows...

This. It was boring and forgettable.

I thought the book was cold and lacked central characters. It was a big jumpy hodgepodge. How the fuck could you make a movie Out of that? As for the movie it was good not great. The scene in the lab and the wall in Israel were really cool. Don't get the hate. I don't think people that say it sucked have ever seen Prince of Persia or The New Ghostbusters...THOSE suck.

You, yes YOU. What the fuck?

This movie had a buzz about it, dominantly because there was a book of the same name that the movie is copied from....however... The story is completely different.

So. Fucking. What.

I didnt read the book, but a friend did and he gave me the synopsis. When I heard about it, I thought...that? In a movie? Wouldnt that be dull? Armies had to relearn how to shoot to kill and blanket the world in order to kill all of them? Cool concept, ok, lets see!

That was not in the movie.
Instead, we got a similar 28 Days Later outbreak. See, I was FINE with this, because in 28 Days Later, we didnt see the world crumble. Here, we do! We get something new! Plus, the end had a unique and clever solution. Lets also not forget, you got Brad fucking Pitt at the helm!

Is it the PG-13 rating? Ok, ok ok. I hear ya, but this movie is still intense as all hell. Frankly, I didnt even notice it. Gore doesnt frighten me and swear words arent necessary. Believe me, I love saying FUCK, but for fucks sake, I dont need to hear it in my horror. Honestly, I had to look up the rating after seeing this movie for the 2nd time to make sure of the rating.

So whats not to like?

I just watched it for the first time. It was way better than 28 Days Later. It was more "clever" (as you put it) than most Zombie movies I have seen. Good stuff.

Dont remember loving it. In fact the only thing I remember is like 1 minute of the intro. not a single thing after that. But I know I didnt hate it.

Shit, I might rewatch it tonight. It will be like seeing it for the first time

I said it before..

It's the most average movie ever made. Not a single micro tick better, or worse than average. At the time I said it broke the laws of physics being so average.

I didn't read the book, and I didn't like the movie. I watch every zombie movie that comes out and this one was completely forgetable.

Lame cgi, stupid plot, no tension, no gore. I've pretty much erased this movie from my mind.
this sums up my feelings as well. All these guys saying how great it was are making me want to re watch it

Pitt was extremely boring in it.

The highlight for me was when I read an early review that described the scene set in Wales as “eastern Europe”. Understandable, I guess, given how much of a slum Wales is
