I like WMMA. Why? I like watching fights. Period. I'll watch two 8th graders throw down in the Trader Joe's parking lot, and don't pretend you wouldn't too.

Women aren't as talented as their male counterparts when it comes to athletics. It's physically impossible, not their fault. I'd say that's why people would prefer not to see it. I don't watch amateur mma unless I know the fighter so why would I watch amateur hour in between the good fights?

There's is no denying wmma has given us some great moments. Mostly centered around Ronda. I also think that women should be able to compete professionally but damn if i dont take a bathroom break during 90% of wmma fights.

I like it tbh. A lot of girls are very gutsy and tough, sometimes even more than their male counterparts. As an obvious example, compare Holly with Conor "QuickTap" McGregory.

The skill and talent level is pretty low compared to male MMA on the whole, but if you watch it with lower expectations, there are some good fights.

And of course there are some female fighters with more skill and technique than the vast majority of the male roster - Valentina being the prime example.

Nunes has legit power, and Valentina has legit skill, talent, and technique. They are the top 2 P4P for sure.

This conversation is unnecessary. Male and female bodies have been formed for very different purposes through evolution.

You’ll notice that many of the male attributes that made his genes’ survival more likely are also useful for delivering spectacular violence. The favorable female attributes on the other hand have much less to do with the outward projection of physical force and much more to do with housing a fetus in the womb and pushing it through the cervix without bleeding to death.

Having the proper ratio of hips to waist is favorable for childbirth, not for generating maximum velocity on a roundhouse kick.

There’s nothing wrong with women’s participation in martial arts. And if you enjoy it more power to you. But it just doesn’t “work” for a lot of viewers. They probably can’t articulate why, but to me it’s simply about preferring to see a tool used for its suited purpose. I wouldn’t enjoy watching someone play golf with a trombone, or painting while wearing a catcher’s mitt. And that’s kind of how I feel when I watch two girls tumble to the ground in one of those bizarre double headlock takedowns.

Its very amateurish and low level, its not for high level fighting eyes like myself, its more for the newer fans who don't understand what they are watching, so miss the skill.
