To all the folks bringing up Rich Franklin being a teacher, you must realize teachers are the bottom 1/3rd of college graduates. You either do or you teach.
That quote about doing versus teaching is really stupid. Socrates taught Plato and Plato taught Aristotle. Franklin also got his degree in a STEM field, so while you won’t get a big argument from me about the people who teach 5th grade English being brilliant, dumbasses generally don’t complete four years of university level mathematics.
Credentials can only tell you so much though. I think we can safely rule Rich out as an imbecile, but that doesn’t mean he’s brighter than some drop out. (And that’s before we get into what it even means to be smart in the first place).
