Jordan
but I don't watch soccer.
but I don't watch soccer.
28" vertical leap.Generally speaking, more countries playing = bigger talent pool.
You can't make an easy assumption like that with Messi, it's unproven. Cristiano actually won shit for three different teams.
wait...... cant you describe both sports like that?Soccer isn't even a sport. It's a game played by soft as hell pansies that flop to the ground like they've been shot if anyone even comes close to touching them. If you're going to call that a sport then you probably consider bowling, darts, poker and billiards sports as well. Fuck off with that shit.
LOL, "being the best or second best..."Being Canadian I've had much more exposure to Jordan but I'd still have to say Ronaldo.
Being arguably the best or second best player for so long in a sport as widely played as soccer is tough to beat.
LOL, "being the best or second best..."
That says it all right there. Ronaldo couldn't even dominate his generation.
He was widely regarded as the #2 behind Messi for the majority of the past decade. It's a disgrace to sport that anyone would compare him to Jordan, or other unquestionable GOATs respective to their sport.
Spoken like someone who has no sense of Lebron's uncontroversial inferiority to Jordan whatsoever. There's no serious debate, here.LOL at this Jordanstan "oh no someone compared an athlete to my beloved Jordan" do you even watch football?? This is basically like having Jordan and LeBron in the same era. Imagine talking shit to one of them about not "dominating" or being the undisputed N1 when there's another all time great which along side him make the top 2 all time.
Stop lying, they have been back in forth regarding the N1 spot, plenty of players and coaches have talked about both of them as the N1 and are 6-5 in Player of the Year awards (voted by players, coaches and journalists) and everyone thinks Ronaldo got robbed in 2018. Also Ronaldo has been voted ahead of Messi 9 times to Messi's 6. And of course, he's the biggest sports star in the world.
Ronaldo is similar to Jordan in many ways actually and that have been discussed
Cristiano Ronaldo is football's Michael Jordan, says Elche coach
lmfao this guy actually provided sherdog polls (oh no, 70 people on an american site voted on Ronaldo vs Messi i guess that settles the debate!) as his data to why 2 of the biggest sports debates ever between 2 stars aren't really debates. LMFAOSpoken like someone who has no sense of Lebron's uncontroversial inferiority to Jordan whatsoever. There's no serious debate, here.
If you knew basketball better, you'd realize that Kobe leeched more votes from Jordan in GOAT polls during his era (and even briefly after his retirement) than Lebron can muster right after winning his latest championship. The sports media always loves to rev up the contrarian debate for views, but it's never serious, as you can tell when they write books Jordan is always their #1, and there's always a few dumb kids with no knowledge or memory who contribute to the "what have you done for me lately" votes in polls. That's why Paul McCartney and Beck are turned away by some idiot bouncer at the door to a nightclub.
This is in the middle of Lebron's career, not right after Jordan's win in 1998:

Meanwhile...
Messi is the GOAT of Football (soccer) (Jan-12-2016)
And the contrarians are all over the map. Maradona gets more love than any other rival, and Pele is in there, too.
Even better:
Who's better? Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? (Sep-23-2019)
I see I broke you. Concession accepted. Not even the consensus GOAT of his own sport. Arguably not even Top 3.lmfao this guy actually provided sherdog polls (oh no, 70 people on an american site voted on Ronaldo vs Messi i guess that settles the debate!) as his data to why 2 of the biggest sports debates ever between 2 stars aren't really debates. LMFAO
You might legit be the most retarded guy ive seen around here. And ive read several war room posts so that's really a phenomenal achievement on your part.

Here's the UK's Express newspaper with a Nov-2020 poll:
https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1365057/POLL-Maradona-Messi-Ronaldo-Best-Pele
The Independent gave the same results:
- 28% Pele
- 22% George Best
- 17% Lionel Messi
- 14% Christiano Ronaldo
- 12% Diego Maradona

- Pele
- Diego Maradona
- Lionel Messi
- Christiano Ronaldo
Don't like the vote of a predominantly British population? Sure. Let's look to a poll of 253 "football" experts:

So onto a juicier question...how does it feel to lose a debate about soccer to an American who doesn't even give a shit about that D-level athlete sport?
I posted the link to the article with the list. The experts are listed individually in name on that page.>Putting an article with "experts" opinions, no explanation of who are the experts, at all AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Additional information: In the 2018 OnePoll research commissioned by the History television channel to mark its History of Football season, Pelé came out on top and was voted the greatest of all time—ahead of Maradona who finished second. Almost 20 years earlier, World Soccer readers as well had designated him as the best of the best. The results were published in the magazine’s last 1999 issue.

Oh, and the author also mentioned that there was a separate expert poll conducted by OnePoll Research and commissioned by the History channel in 2018 that put Pele at #1:
Michael Jordan was dominant in a talent pool of height outliers for a sport only about 10 countries really play competitively when he was active.
Cristiano Ronaldo is dominant in a sport not exclusive of height that maybe 100 countries play competitively.
I think Cristiano is more impressive. He also isn't a massive douchebag.
