News Whittaker On Izzy “Not as good as he thinks he is, performance against Marvin was average”.

Marvin will always stand a better chance against Israel than Bobby. You need to be a big guys with a long reach and a good offensive wrestling ability. Bobby only has 1 which is the wrestling, Marvin had 2 (Wrestling and Big). Blchowicz had all 3 and that’s why he was able to beat Izzy.

Israel can go on to win 10 more fights in a row, be generally respectful (if the opponent is respectful) and still get called ‘cringe’ and thin skinned for normal banter that will sell a fight.

Im having my suspicions but not gonna say anything.

Imagine watching Marvin Vettori go 5 rounds and never once get hurt against the guy who slept you in 2. That's got to sting.
3+5 rounds actually

But to be fair in 22 fights nobody ever KOd or even TKOd Marvin, all his 5 L are decisions

Oh good. They've both agreed to sell this one. I know that isn't normally Whitaker's thing, but hopefully some ppv points and % of the great will have them working together on this.

Can we stop with the narrative of Rob being a innocent, nice guy who’s never talked negative about an opponent

Whittaker definitely talked some trash before the first fight, he guaranteed it would be one sided, he would make it short and sweet and reiterated that Izzy isn’t as good as he thinks.

You do realize that nothing he said there was negative about his opponent.
He just said how he thought the fight would go and how he thought he matched up.

Reason why adesanya is 50/50 point fighter or ko artist, is because he is very very active as a fighter.

Whittaker wasnt a good champion for the UFC.
His body was constantly breaking down and as he has admitted to, he lost motivation. He's a bland guy that has little substance. Sorry

Ufc doesn't want Whittaker as champion. Its why he had to go fight 3 times before getting another title shot, and why they gave the last title fight to Vettori. And it's why if Daddysanya somehow miraculously loses to Bobby Bland, he will be granted an immediate rematch.

Levels to this.
It's a mistake for anyone to underestimate Whittaker.

I do, however, agree with you that the UFC have invested a lot of time and effort into Adesanya and it's pretty obvious they would prefer to have Adesanya win.

Every fight is different, and just it's a naive viewpoint from you to say if Adesanya "somehow miraculously loses". Both fighters are very good. Either can win.

Izzy will always have the upper hand in any shit talk. It's like Shaq and Charles Barkley.

If Izzy isn't has good has he thinks he is .. What does that make Whittaker, better than he looks?..

No doubt Izzy fan fight but man he has the thinnest skin ever
He's a close 2nd behind Jon Jones but ya, he's gotta learn to just laugh off the contenders talking shit and not feel like he HAS to respond to every time they talk

I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Several posters on here have said the same thing about Adesanya. Did the absolute bare minimum against Romero, lost to Jan, and was very passive against Marvin. Whittaker still acknowledges that he's very good, just not indestructible.

Hoping Rob can come up with something very different this time. Strangely he's twice the fighter of marvin but turned out to be a piece of cake for izzy

If you're the type of fanboy who needs, in the vast majority of cases what amounts to be faux drama to get hyped for a fight of this quality those youtube boxing events are probably right up your alley. Me, I'm just hyped as fuck for the clear best two current MWs on planet earth to throw down again. Here's hoping Whittaker puts in one helluva lot better performance than last time and gets the W.

whether you like it or not it helps build the organisation - whether you like it or not

what im saying is that two good fighters going to make a good fight, why not add some promo to it as well to attract more people to watch it.

Exactly this.

All Whittaker said was that (in his view) Adesanya is not as good as he thinks he is. That's hardly a devastating attack. He didn't say he (Whittaker) is better, he just commented that Adesanya isn't as good as Adesanya thinks he is and there's nothing wrong with saying that. It's a very mild comment really and barely is worth replying to, but ...Israel got slightly twisted out of shape it seems. He has always seemed overly sensitive to any kind of even tiny perceived attack on his ability or personality.

Adesanya is *worthily* champion, but it would be nice if he adopted a Champions' gravitas and security, and left the unnecessary retorts back in his teenage years. There IS a time and place for a robust retort but this is not it.

Is a forced awkward fake beef with trash talk from guys clearly not comfortable nor good at it something that would make you want to buy a fight more? If so then as I mentioned youtube boxing events sound the right sort of thing for you as they are filled with fake drama, ditto WWE.

Tbf maybe in that sense you understand the casual PPV buying crowd better than I do because you're a part of that crowd. For me personally I could care less if they were entirely mute before the fight, and then instead focused on fighting and proceeded to put on a banger for the ages once in the octagon.

Does Izzy fight better with the added heat and personal animosity?

I feel like he tries to create it for every fight he's in.

The Jan fight was the only time I can really remember him being respectful and polite and look how that ended.

Izzy's problem is that he matches whatever he's given. No more no less. If you come for the kill, KO city. If you try to point him, he points back. He never needs the dance.
