Whiskey, War, Suicide, and Guns

That sucks man. Gives you more time to concentrate on your race with godsen on who has the best boobs.

That sucks... I'm sorry

Don't get staples or stitches though, that is for pussies

Sorry to hear about the injury, Donut. Staples are bad ass lookin'. Had 60 in my scalp ftl.

They can hurt like a beetch coming out, though.

No need to be sorry, I am the dumbass. Perhaps pity for a white boy who thought he could fly.

It's not your fault. I think it is 1) the equipment manufacturer; 2) the people who distributed the equipment; and 3) your gym's fault.

I like the way you think. Find a way to get around the fact I was misusing the equipment for it's intended purpose. Anyone want to come work in my new gym?

I have (by which I mean you and all your friends) seen countless people at the gym use the equipment that way. Plus, I'm pretty sure all the trainers instruct gym members to use the equipment in a similar manner as you did. Plus, strength expert, Zerocrew1984, is willing to testify on the proper use the equipment.

12/6/09 - Sunday - Bacon Tribute Workout

I normally do a few box jumps or broad jumps as part of my warm up to get the neurons firing. I thought it would be a good idea to try and jump onto a 46" jerk box after making a 42" plyo box easy. I missed, and my shins broke my fall, my left on a large metal bolt sticking out the side (apparently jerk blocks aren't child safe). The gash was tremendous. My shoe was filled with blood before I got to the locker room. So now, waiting to see if stapling will be required. I will update with gore pics.

Sunday - 1
Donut - 0

You bumped up 4" after 42".............................lulz.

12" plyo box required. He doesn't like high reps, so pay attention...he'll only do it once.

On the fifth rep, I felt something start to tear a little in my good old friend the right pec on the way down. Having done this twice before, I immediately knew that pressing it up would lead to a month of no benching so I set a roll of shame PR. Luckily the damage appears to be very minor, I did a BBish back workout and kept stretching it out and rolling it with an indoor shot put between sets and I think I am going to be OK. When it rains it pours, but all part of the process. I didn't do my full warm up today so I will blame it on that.

As a side note, once again, I am reminded that I fucking hate barbell rows more than any other movement and cannot find a way to do them comfortably. I'll stick to DB's.

I think recognizing that fact is the key to long term results. There's no sense in getting discouraged when you're in the business of moving heavy shit because sooner or later, you're going to get fucked up. The hard part is explaining that reality to our mothers.

There is so much truth in these two posts that it hurts a little bit.

I'm the guy who warms up for 15 minutes/looks at the girls in the gym.

Not too long ago I probably would have kept benching until I was crippled and really fucked up, so I think this is a step forward. I think my mother is terrified of what I do. She was stressed enough when I played sports in high school.

My gym has only one women who trains there. She can bench 250 at 140 pounds, though.

This was one of the bonuses when my strength gym closed. La fitness has lots of cardio bunnies to look at. The only girl at the strength gym was a strongwoman competitor and weighed 240lbs.

My mom hyperventilates when she watches me compete and she cried when I tore my arm. At my first contest, they had an ambulance parked off to the side. That's all she needed to see.

I posted this article on the main page in a thread, and since no one really reads the main page anymore I will repost it here. The very wise and well spoken Matt Perryman (great lifting blog here) wrote a great piece on periodization and Westside that sums up things Enright and others have argued ad nauseum about on the main page.

Nice post, dude. I read this blog too.

I missed your original posted this on this in the main page.

The first time I thought about this issue was when you posted on it and referred to The Science and Practice chapter. I read though that material later.

Your pretty smart for a guy who youtube alt is the "Redneck Rocker."
