Whiskey, War, Suicide, and Guns

wow thats some donut strength right there

I'm pretty positive that's the most weight I've ever squatted in one session, looking back. This week is going to be rough as hell, but a bit of break after that.

I expect a 475 squat by the end of the summer.

What do we do with Chase in our race to 1500 now that he is dead on teh 'dog?

And I expect 500 from you, ASAP :icon_chee

I wrote down my goals for the end of this Sheiko 29-32 cycle as 475/330/562 (255kg)=1367. We shall see.

Well if he's not on Sherdog, I don't think we should count him in for the prize or victory, but I'll post his videos in the thread as an honorary member or something.

Liquid, you are going to add like 150 pounds to your max after 32 because you haven't maxed in so long.

I hope I get it on Saturday.

I don't have a problem of letting him stay in as long as he keeps a log somewhere else and videos his big PRs. I subscribe to his youtube channel so I'll see them anyway. We should probably leave the decision to everyone else in the race.

I'm fine with that too, if he keeps the log and keeps the videos. I shot him a PM on T-Nation and asked him to tell me where his new log will be.

Try to encourage him not to work on his bench.

Heya Dough-nuts: Did you get your info off elitefts, and if so, did you contact Talmant's trainer like he recommends?

Yes, and no. I got the programs and Sheiko book off of there, and read most of his posts on the Q&A, but chose to go about things in my own fashion. I have done a lot of reading on them and feel, probably wrongly so, that I can manage my own training pretty well. I know some people who do work with him, and basically he gives you a questionaire and gives you the training plans month by month and adjusts them by your feedback. A very nice thing, and fucking awesome that they do that for free. I believe they do it because they are gathering a database of results and statistics.

4/21/08 - Monday - Recovery

30 min treadmill 4mph @ 3% grade
Hanging leg raise: BWx12x4
DB Shoulder Press: 20'sx25x2

Weighed 220 today.

I should note that I am going to start doing some ab work on my off days. I've gotten away from it, and have found before that it generally helps with the lower back fatigue. So basically my week is

Sun - Sheiko + upper back work
Mon - Cardio + abs
Tues - Sheiko + upper back work
Wed - Cardio + abs
Thurs - Sheiko + upper back work
Fri - Sled dragging/pushing + abs (any intense conditioning work will go on this day)
Sat - Don't fucking move because I am too tired.

Good work Donut. I'm jealous of your squat. Hopefully my right knee will heal up soon and let me get back to doing some damage in the power rack.

what kind of ab work do you do? i also have been thinking about doing some stuff. i've done maybe two 3 week cycles of abs in my whole 1+ years of lifting.

I plan to do hanging leg raise, weighted decline sit-ups, and the ab wheel. I particularly like the weighted decline sit-ups where you hold a plate or dumbells up in the air like you are about to do a decline bench, and then do the sit-up while keeping your arms perpindicular to the ground. They are a bitch.

Jesus, today was rough. Required a good bit of mental toughness to push through it. A good rule of thumb with Sheiko programming is that what seems easy is hard, what seems hard is damn near impossible. Luckily this is the peak of this cycle and the next week and Friday's workout are a bit of reprieve in volume and intensity. I'm excited to pull from the floor next week to see how it feels after three weeks of extended ROM pull + partial rack pulls. Tore a callous on the second set of rack pulls and used my straps for the last two sets. Bench press felt great today, much faster than Monday.
