Wait, so my APT knee sleeves are now banned too?

What ones do you have?

I thought that they banned the Inzer knee sleeves (any knee sleeve with velcro) or double ply material. I thought that single ply material was ok. I'll look the new rule up later.

By a vote of the NGB to go into effect after this year’s Raw Nationals: Belt, wrist wraps, single-ply neoprene knee sleeves without attaching and/or tightening mechanisms like Velcro, clips or straps will be the USAPL’s definition of RAW following RAW Nationals

That sounds like neoprene only to me.

I have THESE and they passed in March, but if this changes things I'll have to look into some different ones.

Donut, we just got back from the Toledo Zoo. I expected to see you there, but I guess you must have been at Tony Paco's today.

Bravo to the USAPL on their decision to allow neoprene only for Raw. It could have been the beginning of a slippery slope. Leave the limit stretchers for the geared divisions, I say.

I talked to Dave Ricks at the meet during gear check and he confirmed that only neoprene, single ply material will be allowed after raw nationals. As of now they will still allow sleeves that are made from one ply of knee wrap material. The EliteFTS and APT Convict ones are no go. The Inzer XT's and the regular APT sleeves are still good until the end of July.

Blue Rehbands are the only way to go with the new rules.

Hope you had a good time with the family. It's a surprisingly nice zoo.

I agree.

It is. We're actually members at the Toledo Zoo, even though Detroit is closer. Tannah loved the new Nature's Neighborhood area that they just opened.

It's not raw if you have a screw holding your bicep tendon in place.

I don't have any metal in me. She used the two incision technique, which involves making a groove in the bone, drilling a few holes, then securing the tendon in the groove by suturing it through the holes. This holds it in place until the bone regrows and fills the groove, locking the tendon in place. It's actually the most "natural" of the three techniques.

Blue Rehbands are the only way to go with the new rules.

I love my Rehbands, but for the budget conscious, I think the newish Vulkans would be a very similar type of sleeve. They look to be far better than the grey Rehbands.

Since the topic is knee sleeves, any reviews on the Tommy Kono ones?

They're OK if you don't mind them lasting ~1 year. The blue Rehbands will pay for themselves by outliving 5 pairs of Konos. Be the S&P guinea pig and get the Vulkans, then report back.

In case you don't know them yet, I think you might like this band:

It's funny you mention them, I just got their stuff 1-2 weeks ago when I heard someone talking about them on a Sherdog podcast.

I think they're great. Clean vocals are a nice change and ze riffs are very good and heavy.

So my week off after the meet turned into the week of soft tissue injuries. I pulled something in my upper back in the middle of last week opening a door, and by the time I got that feeling better I pulled my groin shoveling gravel the other day. The pain had subsided this morning quite a bit, but it was way too tight to do any heavy squatting. I figured the high rep stuff would help heal it up by getting it moving and blood flowing. I had to narrow my stance and grow really slow at the bottom. Luckily it feels like something that will be back to 100% in a few days, so I should be good to go full blast deadlifting on Wednesday. Maybe I'll squeeze in the top set of squats that day as well.
