While Khabib and Jones are demanding the '#1', Fedor and GSP consistently said they're not GOAT

Top 2 GOATs (from these 4)

Fedor is the GOAT. 23 fights in his first 4 years. 18 straight wins after winning world HW title. Beat the best HWs of his generation when they were in their prime and in their 20s. His run was unprecedented and had it took place in the Instagram era he would have been absolutely MEGA and heralded as the greatest legacy fighter ever. Sadly his career and prime took place in Pride before the western world adopted MMA and before the social media era and even worse it was at a time when there was no clear #1 organization.

When Fedor won the HW belt it was Pride that was on top. Then Pride was bought out by the UFC 4 years later and it was down to UFC and Strikeforce and eventually the UFC bought Strikeforce to cement themselves as the #1 organization but by that time Fedor was 5 years past his prime and his hype had exceeded his value and he was judged more for the mixed results past his prime rather than by his unprecedented run during his prime when western casual fans weren't tuned in. Now these casuals look back as if he didn't exist but he was easily the greatest and most legendary fighter ever. The Babe Ruth of MMA.

Haha gsp is legit the nicest guy. Can't believe he was ever a fighter.

Look Jones fans your boy is getting destroyed in another poll

{<hhh]

Khabib demanded the number 1 pound-for-pound spot.

It's got nothing to do with the GOAT conversation

Right?

That too, a terrifying fighter.

A lot of world-beaters he fought were left looking entirely defeated after the fight.

Hell, even Nick Diaz made no excuses. He admitted post-fight that he had no answer for the superman punch.

Except that GSP supposedly missed weight, but since it was in Canada he didn't, or something like that?

Oh yet, and GSP posioned him lol.

Jones and Fedor for me. Fedor is particularly a striking example since in his prime his speed and pacing was straight-up nonsensical for a heavyweight.

It was like if Khabib himself moving 50% faster than he normally is so not only would he start submitting and/or grind his opponents out quicker but we'd even see Khabib score some sweet KOs during the stand-up since fast hands = likelier chance of KO.

Which is why Fedor gets one of my votes along with Jones since Fedor in his prime is literally Khabib but quicker + deadlier hands.

Khabib is more dominant grappler than Fedor though

Maybe, but Fedor was still one of the best grapplers himself during his day and his speed and pacing relative to his division more than makes up for this.
Otherwise, Khabib may/may not be better than prime Big Nog since Khabib's best moments have mostly been him being a submission specialist more than anything else.

Didn't Khabib just ask to be p4p #1?? I mean that is just the current ranking for best fighter in the world and not necessarily all time. I don't think he said anything about goat, did he?

I just love them both as mma gods. Probably should just leave it at that haha

Khabib beat a part time fighter to be the champ on a decision.jon beat the lhw champ shogun in one of the most violent ways ever to be the champ.

Nick made more than enough excuses, that he was poisoned or drugged, that GSP missed weight etc.
