Went with Milos but easily could've picked Lean and maybe would've picked Polanski if it was Macbeth instead of The Pianist.

Knife on the Water is a great Polanski flick aswell.

I had to pick Milos because I really love Amadeus and watched it numerous times by now.

Yeah Amadeus is underrated as fuck. Maybe the greatest film about a musician ever. Also, love Knife In The Water soundtrack. European jazz does the job for it imo. Repulsion is solid early Polanski too.

Komeda! And the whole polish jazz scene. In my opinion and obviously put into the socio-historic context; more punk rock than classic punk rock.

And yes, i agree about Amadeus. Polanski did some very good stuff surrounded by very good people in his time.

Poland as an european, cultural powerhouse is underrated.

Very cool to see someone into the more eclectic music. Grew up crate digging and found jazz and free jazz and what not from hearing my favorite punk bands talking about it in zines in the 90s.

I'm actually pretty ignorant of Polish art/film but love what I've found. Love The Decalogue and Gorecki and Penderecki as far as music goes. My expertise is Japanese and American cinema but I try to experience as many countries cinema and music as I can.
