Where do you place nick diaz overall

He might edge top 10 WW but definitely not even close to top 30 fighter of all time.

EDIT
Usman
GSP
Hughes
Hendricks
Woodley
Condit
Lawler
Shields
Militech
Wonderboy
Fitch
Nick

Thats 12 but hard to say who doesnt get the nod in top 10
you have Usman above GSP?o_O

I've always enjoyed watching Nick fight but the one thing that annoyed me was when he knew he won a fight, hed come over to opponent and in a condescending way, raise his opponents hand . He was window dressing himself while embarrassing his opponent....just rubbed me the wrong way. I dont know where to rank Nick..... when was his last big UFC win ? A smaller BJ who he dominated but left cage with some battle scars himself.

I always did enjoy Nick Diaz fights . I was always hoping hed pull one of these out when he came back.....but it wasnt in cards.

Man, no offense but you talk as if the UFC brand is all you build your criteria around. First of all, UFC back then was not the undisputed #1 MMA org in the planet. The talent was much more spread. And particularly for guys his size.

But anyways, I don't care much about the brand, and I certainly don't give a fuck about who they induct in HOF lol.

I've seen Miletich fights though, barely scrapping by Burnett, many boring decisions, or getting finished by Nakao and Hume, and retiring rather early. He defended the tittle a number of times... yeah one of them against Kenichi Yamamoto if I'm not mistaken. Does that caliber of opponent holds much weight in your book? Not in mine so tell me, concretely, about what fights of him makes you have him that high in all time ranks and particularity above Nick Diaz. But don't tell me about "number of defenses" in a primitive UFC WW division or UFC HOF lol

No particular order

I've noticed fans usually rank Nick pretty high on the list if they were a fan of the sport at the time (or before). Seems like the the people that rank him low are the ones that weren't fans of the sport yet or Conor fans that just hate the Diaz bros in general.

I have him in the top 20 at WW.

, but was often too convinced in his bjj, so he ends up on bottom doing good stuff, but not enough to win the round. And then we listen to him complaining about the scoring or the UFC rules (or whatever) compared to Pride.

.
I mean... under UFC´s rather primitive Scorin´System, you can have a flyin´ armbar/omoplata/gogoplata/rollin´armbar... attempts in the same round, and still... lose the round...

It iz what It iz.

I’d put him in the category of far better than his record suggested. He threw away the fight against Anderson Silva. He literally just had to fight like normal and push the pace but he acted like Anderson and fucked up. Being inactive didn’t help either but he could have been top 5 talent wise if his career had of been managed better

Lol at Miletich being a better fighter than Nick Diaz
hmmm.. that´s the thing, mate... Miletich´s skill set was arguably more suited to the UFC´s Fight Configuration & Scorin´ System... doesnt mean he was better, tho. (jus´like the qualitative difference in terms of skill set between your holy Okami & Tamura, for instance...)

Found fightmatrix has him top 20 right below BJ at WW. They have a ranking system that is actually measurable and not like UFC rankings.

Great fighter and martial artist, poor wrestler and poor fight iq but a tough out for almost all elite guys and could really hang with anyone skill wise. Wrestling was always his achilles heal so as far as ranking id probably put him outside the top ten sadly because I love Nick. His activity rate didn't really help him either but idk--top 50 all time id guess ..I think he would have been a better boxer if he focused only on that but hanging with elite guys and beating them are a lot different.

that's a decent list. I think if you go prime vs prime nick beats maybe serra and pat, maybe Robbie again...I don't know 17 seems pretty close..(I think Colby beats Diaz all day with wrestling)

As a huge Diaz fan, I agree. I loved him for his style and in cage attitude. Not because he was great.
that's the thing--people think us Diaz loyalists think he it the GOAT. I just loved how game he was and how much he seemed to enjoy "the fight" i don't think any of us think he would ever beat GSP or someone like that but i would rather watch Nick fight than anyone else , ever...

I actually agree with you. Serra is high on the list because he got a ton of points for his KO over GSP but I think Diaz would've been a bad matchup for Serra. As for Colby, I don't think it's long before he passes Diaz on the list.

yea i don't get Serra being that high. His only good wins are GSP and Trigg (i guess Trigg, not that great a win but I liked Twinkle Toes so idk) I think everyone on that list probably beats Serra --

You're probably right. I didn't put the rankings together but Fightmatrix has a pretty legit way of measuring things out.
Only fights I remember of Serra are the ones he lost honestly; but I agree with you, he does probably get beat by just about everyone else in the top 20 but then again, none of those other guys KO'd GSP in the 1st haha

I hear you---anyone could pull any list apart if they wanted (condit also bothers me being that high haha)
