Definitely not elite. He uses outdated tactics and strategy. How is it that they still can't wrestle, block kicks, throw their own kicks and always lose decisions? And then afterwards, "if this was pride rules", "yo so and so is a b***h for sniffing my crotch/trying to fuck me/dry humping me (any other homophobic claim to cover up his inability to wrestle)". Just excuses and bravado. Couldn't beat any elite welterweights. Not highly ranked imo.

There is some truth in that but even with those flaws he still arguably beat Condit. Not saying he did but has a legit case.
Even with those flaws he wasnt an easier task than most #1 contenders were for GSP.
Would you favour many WWs to give Anderson Silva - yeah out of his prime but in the juice - a tougher fight? I don't.
And he wasn't a big weighcutter at WW by any means. Outclassed several legit LWs and WWs, traded with some of the best hitters and won, and was never submitted nor really outclassed in the ground
So definitely elite, even if the W/L column doesn't scream so

Just for reference, the UFC Tale of the Tape is HEAVILY flawed, especially from a decade ago. Timmeh's reach kept increasing after his debut and peaked at 86'' for one of his fights (I think against Assuerio) before dropping down to a more reasonable 78'' or 79''. There seems to be more consistency these days (it may just be a case of consistently wrong, but whatever) but I take reach and height stats with a major grain of salt.
For the record, the Croatian Sedation should in no way be ranked above Nick Diaz... and he lost that fight with Mikey Burnett... and he kinda looks like a possum. Great color commentator, though.

The talk comes because our fellow sherdogger @gono btw - a very pretentious but somehow endearing dude - stated that Okami enjoyed a huge reach advantage at MW and it was the only reason why he was able to outstrike opponents.
I brought that J.Macdonald Tale of the Tape you quote as an example of a MW who enjoyed a notable reach advantage over Okami, and still got outboxed.
But as special kid Gono says, I acknowledge reach stats used to differ. In Okami's case between 72" and 75".
I'd say 75" is more accurate for Okami's reach, which still place him in the average for the MW division.
Okami's reach - or his size for that matter - was always extremely overstated; because of his build and largely due to Joe Rogan, not a bad color commentator in his own way but certainly not a rigurous one
I agree. I also think Burnett should have taken that dec.
Apart from being finished by probably the three best mma grapplers his size he faced during his prime in Newton, Hume and Nakao, I didnt find Pat that much impressive in most of his winning efforts where he enjoyed a size/experience advantage over his opponent.
I think Miletich is just another example of the strong UFC bias running wild on sherdog
Solid fighter, legit champ in his time much respect, but not in Diaz level in my book.
