Yeah, cuz even though Rogan is connected to the UFC, this is a subforum of the "fight discussion" forum, so imagine how bad it is to take something as irrelevant to what people are here for as blowing Rogan to such a degree that you start going "To the death, Georges" in the comments of his behalf, insulting anyone who disagrees with the guy and getting so big mad that he'll even reply twice to the same comment.
I've basically written him off, or at least his vibe reading on people, ever since he tried to go in on me but was way off the mark for a comment I made about another user. He acted like I make my mind up about someone once and that's how I always see them, but anyone who has EVER interacted with me here knows damn well I don't really remember many people, and most of the time, don't even know if the person I'm blowing up in my reply is someone who agrees with me and likes all my posts most of the time. It just so happened I remembered this other user because I literally had to teach the guy how to count to five, so he was kind of hard to forget, but Astral went on a little tiffy fit cuz I guess I was supposed to be open to this other guys opinion. A guy who had almost never been NOT on double yellows because of all his bullshit posting, that no one on this forum takes seriously. I'm the asshole there.
Unfortunately, me writing off Astral's ability to vibe check after that technically does make him right about me writing people off in this case though, so I'll give him points for that
I don't mind being disagreed with. I think there's just a lot of hate and disagreement going around that doesn't have a solid base.
It's short sighted, petty, biased.
Usually when I say things, I'm taking a lot of stuff into account, rather than just one post. I'm like Jon Jones, I notice patterns and tendencies. I actually remember that engagement and the guy was a bit of a troll, says some off the wall shit that rightfully should be critiqued.
At the same time, I understand that nobody is ever just one thing. There's nuances and complexities to their words, thinking and process. There's a tendency with many people to disagree with someone about one thing, which is then used to villainize every aspect of their personality, character and soul In a very absolute way.
Things are just more complex than that. Things cannot be approached In such a black and white manner and expect to arrive at any sort of truth.
I've seen this same pattern with you and others on many topics and it's very common.
There's far too much conviction, too little critical thought and too much mindless hate, all of which create an unfortunate stew of bad analysis on a multitude of topics.
We probably agree about more things than not, but any time these factors are at play, we see very quickly how fast things devolve to the lower tiers of public consciousness and thinking.
Overall you aren't that bad though.
Most fall victim to these holes of thinking and awareness, it takes time and a lot of inner work to correct them and begin seeing beneath the layers. A lot of walls need to be brought down, which is a very destabilizing process. It's much easier to just double down on whatever narrative we choose to believe in, rather than acknowledging other truths.
Like bruce Lee said, be like water. It's much easier not to hate when we recognize the impermanence and superfluous nature of things. No idea is absolute, there are always deeper layers to things we are not seeing. Only a foolish man holds strong convictions.
