Apart from Mir, which was the sweetest victory; you can say all those fighters are reallly mean looking on the scale of mean to soft looking.
 
Fedor May have been the goat at one point but his unwillingness to evolve as a fighter and the fact he pretty much has proven he just needs money makes him a joke. Rampage is a shell at this point but still is tough, that’s all it takes to beat Fedor now.

It doesn't matter what happens AFTER fighter loses the most important fight of his career. What matters is his streak coming in to that fight. Many people considered Arlovski as the 2nd or 3rd best HW at the time he fought Fedor. You are just ignorant.


Unless you think he was still in his prime and that Brett Rogers was just on Fedor level when he fought Andre.

Fedor struggled badly vs Rogers. But that fight just showed how Fedor had been past his prime for awhile already.

I don't think that money is a joke.
They both of course warrants good wievership and will be paid maybe even better than in their prime...
Why not? Advertisements industry, media and internet during past 15 years developed rapidly. This bout will watch also people who didn't had internet at home 15 years ago.

Why for example low level pro bouts in other orgs and especially small local might be paid even just 300 - 1000 - 2000 - 10000 bucks? boxe, MMA, KB, MT.

These athletes Fedor and other athlete for wievership still are far above 99,9% world's professional athletes. Not well known athletes world have in large bunches.

You should know that's not true.

AA was on a 3-fght win streak and the UFC wanted to re-sign him but he chose Affliction to chase the Fedor fight and getting huge money, then was destroyed. The only recent loss AA had was in fact to Sylvia; who had also just been destroyed by Fedor, (who was released only after losing to Nog in a title fight and who - you guessed it - Fedor had previously destroyed).

Prior to that Sylvia had only lost to Randy (who Nog beat easily), Arlovski (who we just mentioned Fedor destroyed) and Mir (who yep, Fedor later destroyed).

the fight is completely meaningless. Two mma granddads way out of shape and far far away from their prime slugging it out. Has no relation to their legacy at all. I will not watch this sad excuse for a fight.

Better to go back in time and watch some classics like Rampage - Shogun, Rampage - Liddell or Fedor - Crocop.
 
What about the non-champ ufc fighters he got obliterated by

Prime Fedor was the most well rounded HW ever in MMA. The HW division in MMA has devolved, almost no one has a top level submission game now, back when Fedor was in his prime most of the top 10 HWs had legit high level submission games as well as better striking than most of the current HW division and most of the top 10 were in their 20s and early 30s, now the average age in the top 10 is like 35+.

Fedor got old and became more one dimensional, it happens in MMA all the time as fighters age(Wanderlei, Shogun, Fedor, Rampage, Cro Cop, ect.)

Nog was ranked #1 worlwide when fedor fought him,how about that?
Or ufc rankings matter more than worldwide?
Or ufc had better hw roster than pride at the time they fought?

It's a cool stat, if he wins.
If he doesn't, how many former ufc/pride champs has he lost to now?

Fedor was the goat and he can always hang his hat on that. But time and other talent caught up and surpassed him. GOAT today based on accomplishment, irrespective of out of the cage issues and peds, is Jon Jones. He has the best resume hands down IMO.

And I'm a Fedor fan and a Jones hater.

It would only be 2.

This idea that the HW division has caught up to Fedor is a joke, Fedor is a shell of his former self and the HW division sucks now compared to when Fedor was in Pride or Strikeforce. The HW division didn't catch up or surpass him, he just isn't nearly as good as he used to be.
