What's Your Next Purchase? V5

It's just a standard psa kit, I thing interesting. I think I paid like 125 for the lower, full parts kit, stock and handle.

It may be possible to build a sub 5.5lb 6.5 Grendel. 200y zero it has similar drop at 3, 4 and 500 yards as .308 but with a few hundred less fpe.

Basically you could spend the money on this, a good trigger and go bare bones lightweight stuff on the rest.

That would be sweet. Get a timney trigger or something like that. I never really mounted anything on the rails of other ARs so I don't need a fancy set up, like an aluminum tube sort of thing would be fine as a handguard.

I wouldn't even need an optic, I grew up
Shooting my dads rifle length ARs, m1s and M1a's with just irons.

That would be awesome to have an ultralight AR.

I was taking in another thread and mentioning how on all the trips I went on to Alaska, it was really surprising how many ARs you would see with the subsistence hunters. Mostly iron sight m4 clones.

Well 5.56 is amazing at 0-250 yards. Depending on barrel length and ammo you can see similar numbers to this.

50 + 1"
100 +2"
150 +1.5"
200 0
250 -3"

250y with a heavier 5.56 gr bullet will be over 2000fps and roughly 750 fpe.

6.5 Grendel is cool if you wanted more fpe and range.

Yeah I should definetly use those parts to build something interesting, I already have sights too and I definetly have a few ok scopes around. I'd basically need just an upper assembly. I have a bcg and charging handle already.

Those Christensen arms barrels are cool, I was actually just checking out their hunting rifles, a ridge line is cool and around 2k usd. That ti mountain rifle is sweet too but around like 6k. I was also checking out a Montana arms x2 extreme in 7mm that's about 1300'ans not a light gun but people seem to love them.

Finally getting my firearms license (in Canada). My first rifle will probably be a Russian SKS, seems to fit my budget.

Anyone ever get their hands on a Walther P22?

One of my wholesalers has a deal on them right now where you can get a free laser attachment when you buy one.

I've always disliked our magazine capacity laws, but it wasn't until I owned an SKS, that I learned to despise them.

Do you guys use a dedicated range bag or like backpacks? And if you do use a backpack how do you load this shit?

I use dual rifle bags. They have enough room for 2 rifles and 3 pistols and 6 AR mags and 6 pistol mags.

Then I just pack an ammo can with the ammo I need.

That's impressive.

I suppose since I'll have two AR-15s here soon and a separate AR10 now would be the time to grab a dual bag for the 15s.

Yeah, I definitely hate that aspect of our laws. It really is quite absurd, especially since you can have one of those shortened AK "pistols" and have 10 round magazines. On the whole Canadian gun laws are idiotic.

Yeah have a few of them my dad loves them. We have a normal one and one with son sort of extended barrel compensator type thing on it.

Picked up 3 AK drum mags at $55 each at a gun show this weekend. In the politically charged climate I felt I needed to stock up

I did a stock check on ammunition myself last night.

I have 600 rounds of Green Tip. I think I'm set on "combat" rounds.
