It's all good. I do the same thing. I'm hoping to hunt Wyoming antelope next year, I'm going to get a whole new clothing set for it. Probably first lite. And a kifaru frame pack.
 
I'm seeing some of the new weatherby MKV ultra light weights for about 1700, thinking of getting one in 308 and putting a leupold mk3 4-10x36 or something on it.

I've already got a bunch of talley light weight rings for weatherby rifles laying around and a
Metric fuck ton of nice 308 ammo.

The obvious choice would be just get another kimber but I've always always wanted an ultra light weight.

The vanguard back country is still an option too, and if I went that route I'd save 600
Bucks which I could use towards a new compound bow.

I shot some Hoyt carbon bows today, the pse decree ti and the bear arena as well, all at 75lbs and that pse was badass, I was expecting to like the new hoyts better but nope.
 
I also wish weatherby would offer more vanguard models in 7mm. An accuguard in 7mm would be a great all around hunting rifle.

I find 300wm to be just too much for "all around"
Use but sometimes it's nice to have a bit more ass than 308 or 30-06.

7mm is one cartridge I havnt played with much but it seems very versatile To the point you could shoot light game like antelope but also be able to have some power for the bigger things like moose and elk.

Well I just full on team America and rather than ordering myself a gun, I ordered my wife her first gun.

We will be moving back to the USA full time in about a year but she will be going sooner, neon from China she knows fuck all about guns but likes shooting them when we are in the states.

She has expressed interest in hunting and having her own gun so I figured what the hell.


I spent 650 dollars for a weatherby vanguard Camilla womens specific gun, I got it in 223 so she can get used to shooting, she's recoil sensative as you would expect and normally likes shooting 22s but wants a "real gun".

I have a vortex diamondback 3-9 laying around we can mount up, should be a fairly awesome starter gun.

So when she gets to New Mexico in October to hang with my dad befor starting her program at ASU, there will be a nice surprise for her.

Yeah that's a whole other thing. We sort of had an agreement about that kimber that he wanted it and I wasn't emotionally invested in it.

The main issue with my dad is he totally nailed on our coming up trip to go on another trip with my loser step brother.

I'd literally lol though of the old man claimed a women's specific 223 rifle hahah!!! You know he would be getting weak, he's a recoil junkie and he's like 6'4, 220 (lean too) so I do t think this rifle would do much for him.
 
Just ordered 10 black HexMags from Brownells... only now I just realized they were backordered. Hopefully they get them in soon.
 
So just talked with my dad for a few hours and got some clarification.

The reason he's skipping out planned hunt to go with my pos step brother is that they basically got tags on private land for a sheep hunt in Arizona for 10 days and he will have the chance for a particular species he hasn't been able to check off his list yet. This opportunity and he feels like he's in excellent shape for this sort of hunt because he's been training hard. It just makes sense and fine, the kimber is the right rifle for the job out of what we have.

So it's all good, I just sold a few rifles that were sort of impulse buys to my buddy and now that my dads off on his own thing I'll get to do my hunt solo so I can do it 100% my way.

Now my rifle budget and bow budget is a little bigger since dumping some rifles I didn't need or really want. Thinking hard about that weatherby ultra light weight and a pse decree ti compound bow. Oh and a new kenetrek frame pack.
 
Need to get a couple of 308 and 300 blk uppers.

My wholesaler's site says they have 70 15 rd and 55 10 rd in stock . . . :)

Wholesale prices on the ATI Omni Hybrid stripped lowers are surprisingly like they were 6-8 months ago.
 
I still have a full lower and parts kit and a bcg that I ordered around the last panic and never built. I should probably get some sort of upper so it would be an actual gun.
