Cartoons and old timey sitcoms like Gilligan's Island led me to believe that stuff was lurking around every corner and it was only a matter of time til I stepped in a big slimy pit of it and met my doom

I dream of that sometimes.

I take a step on some mud and am instantly swallowed up, at the speed of a freefall, as the mud above drops on top of me and cuts out the sunlight.

I wake up in a panic.
