What to expect from a colonoscopy?

It's a nothing procedure. You don't feel anything.

The best drugs you've had in your life and no memory of anything that happened when you were probed. 5 out of 5. Highly recommend.

Warning TS, depending on what's going on up there you may find some blood in your poop and you definitely will feel bloated

I want to get one done and was wondering.....could I request to be awake during it? For ummm.....scientific purposes?

<{jackyeah}>

Yes, I might have cancer. It’s possible. Blood and funny shaped poo for months and months. Is what is. We will see.

But if you’ve had one, and are a straight male who hasn’t had anything larger that a fingertip in there, what can I expect? The anesthesia will make me feel trash, because it always fkn does for days, but is my azzhole going to be destroyed etc??

What say you?

The reverse of doo doo coming out the doo doo hole. Ask for a DVD of the video.

Years ago, I had a scare like that and news at the time had Katie Couric's husband dying of colon cancer. I then ate cereals like Fiber One (like thin cardboard sticks) and Raisin Bran for who knows how long, and I think things healed inside. Also noticed eating almost daily yogurt made the doo doo more normal and pretty much no blood and normal size, color, softness.

While you're at it, request the nurses to be fully nude too. Fair is fair.

He might end up in some livestream porno website of the staff doing inappropriate things to him.

had one, no big deal
fasting a day and a half wasnt fun but no pain

The procedure is actually not that bad. I had one done a couple years ago without sedation as at the time I lived about 2 hours from the hospital doing it and nobody wanted to drive me (no family close). Thus I had to be awake so I could drive home.

It wasn’t bad at all actually. I watched the whole thing on the monitor and the doctor actually explained different parts of the colon as he was snaking through it was pretty cool. Btw was clean thank god, Colon cancer runs in my family as well so got one done in my 30s.

Colonoscopy prep sucks. Makes me want to own a Bidet. My gastro said on my next one they are experimenting with people getting colonics the day before. So you aren't shitting all day. Might give it a go.

I disagree. I found the drugs to be fairly mild and only effective at it's purpose. Boring! The drugs the dentist gave me for getting my wisdom teeth pulled, were way better. I was high as shit for like 10 hours afterwards. The colonoscopy drugs just left me hazy for an hour or so. Lame.

As has been stated, the prep is the worst. Plan some toilet time and a bidet is handy to have. I didn't eat anything the day before. I got a pint of liquid to use to mix up a gallon of the solution. I mixed it with cold water from my refrigerator and kept it refrigerated. The instructions were to drink eight ounces every 15 minutes a total of 6 times. Apparently doctors aren't good at math because that works out to 48 ounces, not 64 so I had two doses left over.

The endoscope they use is much smaller than the turds you pass. They gave me some pills and I was awake for the procedure. There was a monitor that I could watch what the technician saw. I was pissed that because of the pills I wasn't allowed to drive home and they had someone with me until I got in the cab to make sure I didn't.

You can't avoid it. It's a cruel process, where they begin before you're fully out. They purposefully turn you towards the screen, too. Then you wake up, hoping it was all a dream...but you know it wasn't.
