˄Expensive!
For those that are interested, I wanted to give a short review of the DPx HEST 2.0. First of all, I love it. The blade is smaller than one would expect for a knife of this size. It comes in at 3.19", as opposed to the standard 3.5". However, the knife feels great in either standard or reverse grip. The jimping on the spine of the blade doubles as wire stripper and offers excellent control for the slashing/stabbing type motion. The G10 scale on the control side of the handle is textured more finely than most I've encountered and providess excellent grip. The titanium on the opposite side of the handle contains the visible frame lock AND a rotating lock for the frame lock that makes certain the blade stays open during hard use. Lionsteel of Italy is manufacturing the new model for them, so all worries of lock rock seen in the first model should be satisfied. The knife also features a deep pocket clip, glass breaker on the hilt and a hex bit driver in the handle. I, actually, carry a small set of hex bits that work excellently with the knife. I found that the bottle opener on the spine of the blade had an unexpected benifit. Being used to the Emerson Wave Commander, I naturally have a specific motion when pulling knives from my pocket. As I was pulling the knife from my pocket the other day, I found that the bottle opener acted in exactly the same manner and deployed the blade just as my Wave Commander does.
