Weak sauce, Human Resources. Show them who the boss is by bringing a Spartan strapped to your thigh.

My edc is a Kershaw Packrat. I'm a liberal democrat and I carry every day.

Great knife, no complaints! Wife got it for me to replace a lost (also great) Bucklite.

Top to bottom:

Kershaw Rake (my usual every day carry)
Kershaw Blur (used to be my edc)
Kershaw Vapor (my occasional edc)

All the info is here:

KAI USA : Kershaw Product Details

It is pretty solid and easy to grip. The handle looks smooth but it is microtextured like a file and it holds superbly in the hand between the unique grip texture and the shape that fits the hand well.

Two steels are used for the knife-- Very hard d2 for the blade and sandvik for the back.

Four-position clip, flipper and two-sided thumb stud.

Very high quality feel to it-- no loose parts or rattles, blade perfectly centered, the liner lock is huge (high contact area also) and the blade/liner lock both lock in the exact same position on every SpeedSafe assisted open.

SpeedSafe and Made in the USA are the best parts of this very quality knife. It is my EDC now.

From the website:

ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:

The Rake is Kershaw’s newest composite-blade knife. It features tough, wear-resistant D2 on the cutting edge and high-performance Sandvik 14C28N on the spine. The extra-wide blade with its curved belly provides ample slicing and slashing capability. A clipped point preserves piercing power, too. SpeedSafe

Bought my first EDC knife today, wasn't looking for something to slay dragons with, just something small, light and affordable. I bought a Schrade Extreme Survival Folding Knife, I actually really like it and it is a handy little knife.

Good looking knife. I really like the wire stripper jimping! I have a g10 Endura 4 I carry around and I modified it by cutting a bottle opener into it in front of the Spyderco thumb-hole, which as a happy accident also works for wave deployment. Now I'm thinking I'll cut some wire stripper notches into the thumb-ramp. To date, it's my favorite edc blade I've used, held, seen, or heard of. The only thing that might make it more fun is assisted opening and pillar construction, but it's not possible with the lock on the back of the handle like it is.

I've been looking at the kershaw ken onion Shallot, I think the frame-lock would allow for modding it to be at least partially pillar construction, and the front could be waved and added to include the wire stripper jimping as well. But the blade steel is softer. can't win them all I guess.

I've been carrying it for a couple months now, and I really like it, Urban. I definitely recommend it.

I've got a couple of assisted opens, but I'm still not sure about the whole idea. More parts, more to fail. We'll see though.

I can't say for other brands but I've been carrying Kershaw for a long time and never had one single problem with any part of the knife including the torsion bar assist. One squirt of WD-40 a couple times a year is all you need to do to maintain it forever.

+1 for Kershaw. I don't use WD-40 though because it seems to attract pocket lint. I use something called Dri-Lube. It's made for guns but it's great for knives because it doesn't attract lint or dirt.

Good tip thanks.
