What knife did you carry today?

3. Benchmade Contego 810 (Drop point)...http://www.benchmade.com/products/810
Beautiful knife, Osbourne design, non stainless steel (CMP-M4) but still a great steel. Keep the blade oiled and you'll be fine. Kind of big for an EDC but a perfect folder for outdoor people who don't like fixed blades. Around $215 for people in Canada but still a great knife

2. Gerber Propel AO....http://www.gerbergear.com/Tactical/Knives/Propel-Downrange-AO_30-000725
I know it's a Gerber but it's a great knife. S30V which is a great steel and G10 handle which is amazing. When I bought this knife I originally thought it was going to suck but it turned out being the knife i carry everyday for work. Only problem is its half serrated but the serrations are easy to sharpen so it works for me. It was about $160 and well worth it!

1. Benchmade Northfork...http://www.benchmade.com/products/15031
My favorite knife that I bought this year! S30V steel, Dymondwood handle and great jimping. Small, beautiful and just perfect. Just go look at one and you'll see what i mean. I think i paid $180 and I plan on buying another in the near future as a gift for my Dad who is an a big hunter.

Can anyone tell me about this knife?

Im not the most knowledgable about knives, but this one was sitting lonely in a cabinet at my LGS yesterday. $50. Its a discontinued model, NRA 12400 Steigerwalt made by Benchmade. It has a small NRA marking on the blade, and micarta handles.

I was thinking of picking up a mini griptillian, but I like the look of this knife a lot. Maybe mostly the micarta grips, has a classy look to it. SInce I work in an office, any knife I carry cannot look tacticool and I dont want to freak out coworkers anyways. Just curious to see what your guys opinions are on this knife at $50.

I don't know that knife, but I've never heard of a bad Benchmade.

Got my recon 1 in the mail today. love it.

Got my brother a Gerber Rescue knife for Christmas. He's already used it twice at the FD for some medical calls. Made me pretty happy.

Get my Recon 1 back from the knife store sharpener today. Using it to cut bumpers off during traffic collisions really does a number on the blade...

Those things are tanks. I've been eyeing the AK-47 for quite some time. But I hear that cold steel's g10 pattern is quite coarse and can destroy your pockets.

Yeah they are. The ak47 is awesome, It's alot like a recon 1 but more versatile with it's pommel. Shorter blade though.
I like the g10 scales. They feel really grippy if that's even a word. I think your pocket is more likely to get ruined due to the actual pocket clip then the g10. At least that is what happened to one of my pair of pants. The solution for me was to loosen the pocket clip. Works great now.

Kershaw's about to release some auto knives. Time to start saving.

Benchmade is a high-quality product, however, and have plenty of similar products retailing that amount and more so it's not a idiot buy. You'll pay near double for the griptillian and, if you get that anyway, no such thing as too many.

Cold Steel changed their steel on many of their old favorites and are coming out with some new swag shortly. Can't wait!

I carried this bad ass:

(from the drawer to the dining table). 1.5 ounces of stainless steel, silver-plated, congealed-dairy-produce spreading sweet, sweet butter knife. Those unbuttered slices of toast were giving me mad respect, because they knew I was the kind of tough guy who could have them buttered in one second flat with that bad boy.

Haha nice, treating this shitty thread with the respect it deserves. Imo unless it work related only a complete knob head would carry a knife

How about lifestyle related. Can't relate? Not surprised.

Really want to get a Benchmade Griptilian.

I've never understood this line of thought. I use my knife nearly every day.
Why would you even post here?

Now that I'm wearing 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants at work, with knife pockets on the left and right sides, I may revisit the idea of carrying an Emerson Karambit on my support side. Previously with my tax payer supplied pants, I just had the regular side pockets and because I don't own a pair of navy blue 5.11 Taclite Pros, I just kept a back up flashlight in my left pocket. Now that I've got 4 pockets, perhaps a support side defensive knife may make sense.

I love 5.11s, especially at work. Wearing a holster kind of makes the strong side pocket useless and I use a knife more regularly than a gun.

The new tip-design of the EKI Karambit is neat, I envy you!
