What Is The Reason For MMA Fighters' Obsession With Tattoos?

Why hate on tattoos? I love mine and they are art imo.

Well it's a matter of taste. Personally i have no tattoos and some people have shitty tattoos, other look really badass with em. If i had cash to spare i probably would have gotten a few by now, i just like the idea of looking abit different, i think it's a cool form of expression. Ofc it takes commitment since you can't just change your tattoo like you change your shirts and i kinda respect that aspect of it.

If you wanna look different, a tattoo's not the way to go. I own and opperate a cafe... there are plenty of days when the women who come in ordering a chai latte or a cafe mocho who don't have a full sleeve of ink are outnumbered 2 to 1 by the women who do.

Stick with the t-shirt.

I don't think I saw one fighter last night who didn't have tattoos. Even Joe Rogan has tattoos. His arms are absolutely covered with them. He's ruined his arms. They look so greasy and ugly with all that paint on them. Frankly I never saw the attraction of paying to get stabbed with ink. It looks so low class and just looks like hell. These young fighters might think they're being "cool" trying to look that way but when they get older they will be sorry for how undignified their tattoos make them look. Until fairly recently only the lowest classes of people got tattoos and for good reason.

Neither dillashaw or soto appear to have any tattoos ( watching main event right now )

It's not just MMA fighters. 20 years ago there were 2 places in my town to get Tats, now there are about 20.

No, to the contrary I don't care about them at all. I just wonder what goes through a person's mind to do something to themselves like that. As I said, until recently only the lowest classes, the most uneducated and ignorant got tattoos. But I suppose if somebody is willing to sacrifice brain cells and risk permanent brain damage just so they can be a "star" for a few years of their life, then the rest of their life choices shouldn't be expected to be exactly brilliant either.

Did your mom drop you on the floor when you were a baby?

This guy can get a Tito Ortiz tattoo.

You sound like a real dick

If I was the UFC CEo and I had evidence it was bad for business than honestly, I would care, When you work for a company like this, it becomes understood that you are evaluated on how much profit you can bring in and how you look often has a lot to do with that.

These guys punch each other in the face for a living. I'm willing to bet the average consumer/fan doesn't care.

It's ok TS I prefer the blank canvas look also. Clean cut look will never go out of style.

Plus the more and more people who gets tats will make it more and more less cool over time. Just how it goes.

Guess thats why the NBA and NFL are so unpopular

Monkey see, monkey do.

But yeah, you're basically outing yourself as being a follower by having them.

Kinda is a warrior-ish thing to do too.

Thanks Dad.

Unless you want to fuck them why do you care what they look like?
