What is Ngnnou's legacy in MMA for you?

He is.

Ngannou is literally shitting on boxing itself while promoting this fight. I really doubt his motivation is as lofty as you make it out to be.
He risked everything 10 years ago to become a boxer.
Everything was documented way before that fight was signed, and before he even fought for the UFC title.
People who knew him as a homeless immigrant back then have backed that publicly, several years ago. Same for his relatives in Cameroon.

Mile Tyson agreed to corner hom to fight Fury in 2019.

For me, Francis will now be like a Khabib, a great fighter that could have done great things but cut it short. Khabib I understand as it was very personal. Francis on the other hand, the business and money just got in the way. To be frank (lol), no one will remember his career post UFC. He could have done great things in fighting Jones, Stipe and then defending vs the new wave of HWs. But he went after other interests that worked better for him. I am sure his decisions will benefit his career financially and in other ways that the UFC didn't offer him, but legacy wise it pretty much ends at Gane I think.

Over the years, just looking back on talking to other sherbros about Ngannou, I feel like I held higher opinion of Ngannou than most others. I really felt like Ngannou was more than just power, he had timing, speed, footwork for a big guy, power, strong, powerful, and developed a great TDD as well. To this day, I think Jones was shook by Ngannou, and believe that Ngannou would have sent Jones to the deepest depth of a shadow realm and Jones knew this. I know what happened to Gane, but match ups make fights. Gane and Ngannou can't be any more different. Gane was always going to be a difficult fight for Ngannou.

But Ngannou, if honest, never developed any hardcore followings like PRIDE legends. He never had much of that. The guy never went mainstream either, nor did he have much title defense to speak of. Lots of people don't give him credit for some of his wins as well, though I tend to do so and believe that his HW resume is arguably up there with the best.

For me, I don't consider Ngannou a legend. For me, I consider Ngannou a great fighter who had a great run in UFC heavyweight division and that's really about it. I just saw Fury interview and he looks in phenomenal shape. Ngannou is going to get the drubbing of his life and he will likely lose whatever appeal he had, if at all, to the public. I questioned his choice right after, and I'm still of an opinion he made a mistake. He's getting 2 million more for this Fury fight which will be the biggest beating of his existence, but he could've gotten paid 8 million 7 months ago and then fight again, so he would've made more money during this span and wouldn't have taken 1/100th damage he will this weekend. And mind you, he only has two fights with PFL for 4 million each.

All in all, I think Ngannou's legacy as a fighter is, a fighter who was a great, albeit one dimensional, HW fighter who had a terrific career in UFC, but who overplayed his hand for greater perceived financial gain. No more or no less. Just wonder what Sherbros think.

Finally.
Someone with common sense on the issue.

What is Ngannou's legacy in MMA in your eyes?

He was able to close his eyes and swing with power. He lost to Stipe and Lewis via two completely different ways, but showed improvement in the Stipe 2 fight. He was finally on his way to developing an all round skillset, when he left the UFC after the Gane fight.

He ultimately wanted money and he left the UFC chasing it. He won't be included in any top 10 HW lists and is below most other champions.

No one will remember any of them. The UFC has gone after the WWE crowd for the last 10 years.

In mma? Reality is,
He left as the champ.
But never really laid out a record for a legacy
Never cleared a division.
Had a couple controversal fights.
But champ none the less .

What he will go down as , most feared striker/hardest hitting striker to ever walk in the octagon.

If he wins against tyson and knocks him out.
It'll cement him as a a guy who carved his own path. Took risks to stand at the top of the mountain.
Could be a game changer if he wins for other fighters

Huge ass Ford Escort power, held his ground against Dana and came out on top, won't be talked about that much when speaking of greatest HWs.

That's the story so far.

You're gunna get some goofy people why try and say something to the affect of 'not that great' or some weird shit. Lol. He's literally the most exciting heavy weight fighter since Fedor and I'm not even a Fedor mark like that. There was a legit 99.999999999 chance he was going to flat line someone. Like literally flatline. Not tko. KO. Everyone loved it.
Um looking at his record its a 60% chance of a KO/TKO. The guy had power... but lets not oversell it.

His legacy will likely end up being a lofty one, for me. Dude has the audacity to be the UFC HW champ, and try his options when time to re-sign? He Ric Flair'd the shit out of the UFC, told them, "I'll just leave on top and sign with a competitor," and did it. Granted, Flair was back with WCW like less than two years later, but we all know that probably isn't happening here. Frank bit the hand that fed him, and ended up with a bigger plate. I admire the shit out of him for standing his ground and never caving to the UFC, and especially after it worked out for him about as best as could be expected (barring a KO vs Fury, but we don't honestly believe that will happen).

As an actual fighter, he was the HW champ/fighter that all feared, he will literally make you leave your feet he will hit you so hard. If it only takes one from most anyone at HW, he's got higher potential for that one than most anyone else. He was kinda like Rumble, in that regard. The opponent knows the score before the fight, will do his best to avoid it, but one of those punches is going to land, and, when it does, it will teach you a lot about yourself, one way or another.

Nothing but respect for Francis Ngannou, the fighter and the man.
Was it tough writing all of this with Frank's nuts in your mouth?
Or did it make the experience that much better?

Please elaborate...
How did he fuck the UFC?
He told them he wouldn't fight for peanuts and obey danas stupid request. He went out and got paid and is the true hw lineal champ. Not some kissass like jony. Who was too scared to fight Nganou for years.

Dangerous fighter in a quite weak division.

Most memorable for growing up in a different world and becoming a champion in MMA not following Dana White and did his own thing,

Um looking at his record its a 60% chance of a KO/TKO. The guy had power... but lets not oversell it.

See. No matter what you do some fucking idiot is just going to be an idiot for hell of it.

Ngannou legacy is still undetermined imo. We will see what he does against Fury and than after in PFL.
