Yeah they aren’t pure strikers, but they prefer striking, and yet they chose to sub Bryce. Guys like Demian Maia got beat down by strikers. Ryan Hall got pounded by Topuria. But they don’t get subbed like Bryce.

Its easier to snatches a guys neck than break your hand on his head. Look at Khabib as he got older, went from smashing those to trying to sub guys as quickly as possible. I hope Islam continues the same game plan like against Moicano, snatch necks, cash checks.

Bryce is an great grappler but he isn't Ryan Hall. Bryce is an top control player, Hall plays from his guard. Polar opposites, and it still took him butt flopping a round and a half before Topuria finally dove into the guard, caught him with a few crisp shots, retired him and Hall realized the whole MMA thing was a lot harder than pure grappling.

No hate on Hall, I liked him, and his sub of BJ will go down as an all time great even against a diminished BJ.

His coach is that bald old guy. Willie something. I think they clean up regionally but not at a national level. Usually BJJ schools in the middle of America aren't that good. There are some exceptions. Arkansas isn't one of them.
