I wear Hookahs. That's probably not the shoe's name. But, that's how I remember it. Was running in them today.I love puma shoes. They feel great when I am running.
Tried some new shoes after using Saucony Guides for many years. Tested out Hokas for the first time (Clifton, Bondi etc) and I'm not a fan of their shoes. They're very clunky and I would never do a race or long run in them. They might be better for heavier people or anyone looking for tons of cushion. A lot of people seem to love them though, so I'm not sure what to say. Some of the New Balance models were pretty decent but, not surprisingly, I ended up settling on some of the Asics models. It's really hard to go wrong with Asics and Saucony. They have such a wide variety of high quality shoes.
I went with the Asics Novoblast 5. They're very solid, even though they still have a little too much cushion for my liking.

Cut in half: ASICS Novablast 5 Review (2024)
ASICS Novablast 5 review: The Novablast 5 takes ASICS’ best-seller to new heights—literally and figuratively. We found it lighter, softer, and bouncier, with improved flexibility and a more responsive feel underfoot. The price remains unchanged, offering excellent value with significant updates...runrepeat.com

I might do some long races next year and these feel like something I would consistently use for both training and racing. I probably won't mind a bit more cushioning on the longer runs.
On a sidenote, the Asics Dynablast 5 are basically the Novoblast 3 at a discount. I would recommend them as well. I also tried the Saucony Guide 18s just to see where they're at. Still a great shoe and highly recommend for every day trainers.
Adidas released a model that's only good for ONE marathon.A guy I work with is big into the marathons and he swears by Nike. He buys the stupid expensive carbon fiber ones and they only last him like a month though.

Brooks
Mizuno
Asics
New Balance
Those are my favorites. I've realized it depends a lot on the fit. If you have a slightly wider foot, or an in between size, the small differences between brands may fit your foot better. I buy made in the USA New Balance most of the time, but My Brooks and Mizuno's were nice.

When I played baseball I love Mizuno baseball cleats.I'm pretty sure this is a personal question for anyone who runs regularly
For me, at least right now, Mizuno Wave Horizon 8

I had some New Balance's before but they felt too squishy. A few pairs of Nike but they never fit me right.
These are like a stability shoe but the first one I found comfortable.
I always question why some of the new "running" shoes have such thin sole, since the point of the shoes is to cushion the impact on your feet and knees. Without proper cushioning, you can develop knee problems over the long term. As far as brands go, I prefer Asics, although I might give New Balance a try.
