What do you think about WMMA

Not sure why Ronda was asterisked. She was an Olympic judoka, ... seems to me that would qualify for top-tier athleticism.

No of her victories went to a decision.

It's common and accepted to hate Rhonda after her bullshit, but from an accomplishment perspective in relation to context, she's beyond reproach. Problem is? Suredawg hates everyone and everything.

The Ronda era was incredibly entertaining, even for those just tuning in hoping she'd lose. Can't deny that she had a profound impact on MMA.

Are you still yapping? Go dry those tears, Nancy. Live to lose another day. Also, LOL at some dipshit pretending to know anything about viewership and then believing that all of their Fox cards and ESPN cards on television didn't rank like shit because you're too dumb to even know what ratings are.

"Der, what?? Temperatures is rising?? BS!! Whatchoo mean they gots records of it. Show me!!" Literally the equivalent of your dumbfuck argument.
Post numbers to back up your claims, or stfu.

Probably when more women from actual martial arts at a high level crossover.

Right now it mostly seems like women who were adults when they started taking mixed martial arts classes with no martial arts background prior

this is the same exact argument you guys were making 10+ years ago lmfao.

you guys were saying things like, "men's MMA took a few years to evolve, so we should expect the same with woman".

but now its 10+ years later and nothing has changed and you guys are still making the same arguments lol

There is the rare occasion (Ronda for example) where its actually kind of a boon for the UFC. if you think how much shit MMA used to get with all the "white trash" "redneck" "tattooed skinheads" etc talk its actually kind of funny to think that its become one of the most prominent sports for producing high profile female athletes.

Buuuuuut.....most of the time it just weighs things down imo. How theres an obligation to put it on basically every card, often several fights. Theres only a tiny handful of WMMA fighters that people are invested in, and watching two random women fight is usually not as entertaining as watching two random men fight because the overall level of athleticism and skill is much lower.

It's amazing at the highest level. Look at this striking by Pena
juliana-pena.gif
! Wow!
Just horrible

I like Strawweight and have recently started to like Flyweight, with Erin and Grasso being good additions to the top 5 and prospects like Natalia Silva giving me hope.

I don't care at all for Bantamweight. I didn't even watch the main event, opting instead to re watch Charles vs Beneil. Pena has to be the least skilled champion ever

I pretty much always watch every fight no matter how boring til the end,but I had some place to be,and barring some miracle leon edwards shit,Aldana had stunk up the octagon.

Yeah but if there was no WMMA...we would have never had Joanna Champion vs Zhang I

One of the finest fights to ever occur.

Some of my favorite fighters are females, and while you are right about some things,I think the good outweighs the bad.

95% of wmma honestly bores the shit out me. The 5% really consisted of Joanna and Amanda (early flights). Both now retired so they just smoke & food breaks <Fedor23>

Add 5% to your 95 and I am in full agreement
It's absolute rubbish and just dilutes the product

You assume a lot. I never said anything about some evolution that would occur

You just made that up.

I like all of MMA as long as it’s entertaining. During Ronda days, it was incredibly entertaining even if the level of skill was lower (not by much though). The one thing I don’t like is how many spots WMMA takes on some cards. If all of them were Ronda fights then that would be great, but too many of them are simply just boring - low finish rate and low level of skills. I think they are pushing WMMA a bit too much and should put more fights on the prelims, once they have decent contenders and/or fighters who deliver fireworks, move them to the main card. This Irene Aldana chick was terrible, I never want to watch her fight again but I’m guessing she will take up spots on the main card in the future. That being said, the problem isn’t WMMA, it’s a bloated roster. 8/10 fights I usually don’t care about and that has mostly to do with the UFC stacking the card with cheap low level talent and have 1 max 2 decent/relevant fights on each card.

Aldana is terrible example her last two fights were PPV main cards and ended in finishes. Before that she a brutal highlight reel KO on PPV

She also has several performance bonuses and Fight of the Night.

She is an exciting fighter who had a bad night that shouldn’t over shadow every other performance she has had in her career

a good fight is a good fight, doesn't matter if it's men or women. That being said, the level of WMMA is about 15-20 years behind the men. They also lack the power of men so knockouts are more rare. For these two reasons WMMA is not as good as MMA.

"nothing has changed"
yeah absolutely nothing has changed. except for the fact that nearly everything has changed. shows you dont follow the sport.
was Strawweight the premiere women's weight class 10 years ago?
did we even have Flyweight or Strawweight in the UFC 10 years ago?
would someone like Bethe Correia get a title shot in WMMA today?
just a ridiculous assertion.

Your posts are just dumb. I don’t need to do that, because the UFC keeps track of their numbers, and if their numbers were coming back telling them wmma= no sell, then they’d have dropped it already.

Cool story, bro.

Random child on sherdog, "hey man, create your own data to prove your obviously correct opinion to argue with me"

Also same child on sherdog, "ya I'm not going to provide any data or do any research myself to prove my obviously retarded opinions"

Completely insufferable. Quit asking people to do this without doing it yourself. This is how you win arguments.
You sound retarded and never accomplish anything in any argument you're entering.
With your insufferable, posts just asking everyone else but yourself to prove their points, you automatically lose every argument.
