Crime What did the cops do wrong today. Vol. 2

so when do people start rioting against the police? police planting drugs on people WTF
in any other sane western country, that shit would be a huge story and whole police force would be under investigation

Yeah... this is bad. Saw this earlier. I think this story is just getting started, the video just came out.

The department responded and cleared the officer. It disappointing...

I'm a big supporter of the police. However, I also feel that officers should be held to a higher standard because of the power they have. This officer needs to be fired and arrested. That man's life could have been ruined without that video. In fact, I'd also support that any penalties/jail sentences for officers be doubled if found guilty of such crimes because of the ability of them to abuse their power.

I just now heard about Duncan Lemp. Shit's fucked up. I think with more stories like this we're going to see a contingent of more libertarian/revolutionary type conservatives extending their distrust of government to include police.

roflmao what a horrible non-response

I’d hold off a while longer before deciding. Police statement about it says Lemp was armed with a rifle and refused multiple commands to drop it and was shot by officers inside the house.

sounds more likely than the “eye witness” version claiming police shot him through the window/wall from outside before even coming inside.

well, they have now said on record they have evidence from his phone that tied the drugs in question to him prior to police contacting him, which would pretty much sink the “planting” of those drugs.

Yes, I'm reserving judgement. They were wearing body cams so it should be pretty obvious what happened when information starts getting released. If it all remains hush hush forever, then I'm going to assume that the police were in the wrong.

Edit: that's also the police's third official version of the story btw, so it's not like there is no reason to be skeptical about this one.

If theres body cams it can’t stay hush hush. At some point case would be adjudicated/closed and they would become available. No point in lying if it’s on video.

where did they say that? its not in the written statement

from the written statement its clear they are covering their asses with bullshit excuses: "yeah we took statements from officers at the scene and we believe their story" is what it boils down to

They issued a second one. Scroll down on their Twitter post. Updated with new info.

oh, now they claim they took it from suspects pants pocket - if it were indeed so, what was the police officer doing with that evidence by putting it carefully (aka planting it) on the ground next to the suspect while he was being arrested ?

this whole thing is beyond ridiculous - if police are doing this now to blacks, imagine what they did 50-60 years ago and how many innocents ended up in jail due to racism

I’d imagine they pulled it out of a pocket while searching and tossed it on the ground to finish searching then went back to pick it up after securing him. Not gonna just hold it in your hand while you keep searching and handcuffing. I’ve done that hundreds of times with knives/drugs etc.

we'll see how this turns out
considering all the shit cops do and get away with, it is perfectly plausible they tried to plant drugs on this guy just because (even if the cop dude gets caught lying, police force will back him like there is no tomorrow: returning back safely to his family and all that shit)

unlikely, especially if they said they have evidence on the phone proving it. Can’t make that up as defense would have access to it.

lets hope so
cause if it isnt so, that would mean US police force is on china level of fucking with its citizens

So which side was right?

Are you kidding me? Look at that hostile situation escalated by that female. She was physical and aggressive. She could have used a few more uppercuts imo.

It was definitely wrong to punch that female queen.

He should have shot her instead
