Crime What did the cops do wrong today Megathread Vol. 6 ? (who knows, lots of cop threads)

How is this America???? How could anyone allow this to happen???

This is a text book example of why I feel supporting the police blindly is 100% supporting a police state that is the total opposite of freedom & patriotism.

I dont give a fuck if it was drug money at this point. They should have to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.

Freedom my ass. They just pulled over a veteran citizen and robbed him. Mind blowing.

Then on a side note this is the thanks he got for trusting them and letting them search his car for no reason.

Do not complain about crime or criminals crossing the border if you support LEA & disgusting thugs that do this.

Dude was driving under the speed limit than safely passes a truck. Cop makes up nonsense to pull him over. Proceeds to make him exit the vehicle. Searches his car when the victim says he had more than $10,000 on him. Then steals the man's life savings.

Cops tase and arrest 87 year-old woman for cutting dandelions on the property of a Boys and Girl's Club. The dispatch were informed she was on the property and were told it appeared she was looking for vegetation and had a bag with her, and that whe wasnt being aggressive with the knife. Dispatch only reported "an armed individual with a knife" on the property. The Cops physically saw her cutting dandelions and still tased her. Also she's from Syria so there was a language barrier.

A high-ranking member of the Maricopa County Sheriffs Department, who used to be a Phoenix PD officer, got suspended for spreading lies about Tyron McAlpin stealing someone's phone.

The phone that McAlpin had was his own phone, and he'd never been arrested before those two bozos nearly beat him to death.

That's another part of the story that's been overshadowed because everything else is so egregious, but it's ridiculous on its own. The officers initially charged McAlpin with stealing his own phone.

LOL This is why nobody takes police unions seriously.

They're standing by the notion that the drunk who had just been trespassed from a convenience store for harassing the staff was a credible accuser against McAlpin that justified those two cops coming in hot and nearly killing him.

They also laughably say that McAlpin failed to communicate that he was deaf or disabled like he was actually given a chance.

I'm assuming that McAlpin doesn't have any kind of criminal record because these clowns would've definitely leaked it already to back up those two idiots.

Is being completely incapable of reading the room a requirement for the job?

They ought to know that putting out statements like this actually hurts their ability to defend their members in the event that they are actually accused of something they didn’t do.

WTF is wrong with them? Genuinely asking, this is literally shooting themselves in the foot.

I think this civil forfeiture bs is one thing that unilaterally boils everyone’s blood.
Personally, I’d like to see officers that engage in that disgusting process publicly caned, then imprisoned for 5 years.

Cop unions are used to never being challenged so they always belligerently defend their members, even when they're clearly in the wrong.

The Phoenix PD union is making the anti-cop case better than any activist ever could.

Literally every government official in Maricopa county is backing away from this and getting ready to throw those two cops under the bus, but the union is still coming out with totally nonsensical press releases defending their behavior.

IMO It doesn't boil people's blood enough.
There is no way you should still support ANY organization that allows or practices this. But they do with all their hearts. Like a cult.

I'm shocked that this is a thing in 2024 America where over half the country has "don't tread on me flags" and uses "freedom" "merica" & the constitution as buzz words in every other sentence. Yet those same people virtue signal, justify, & ignore the real world actions that are totally the opposite of the dumb rhetoric & symbolism they pretend to care about.

Mind boggling to me.

But again these are the same people who aren't even moved to speak out when they see a human being executed/snuffed right in front of them for not licking boots when ordered.

MERICA!!! FCK YEAH...BALD EAGLES...FLAG ON EVERY SHIRT SLEEVE/BUMPERSTICKER... MOUNTAIN DEW....FIREWORKS.....TAKE MY $90,000 JUST DONT TAKE MY GUN THAT I WILL NEVER USE...HAVING MANNERS IS LEFTIST SOCIALISM...COMMIES
Wash rinse repeat.

Wouldn't expect anything less from a Cult Gang

Yeah, I grew up in Texas around a lot of conservatives, and I've never understood how people who are generally very cynical about the government are totally deferential to local law enforcement and think that they should be above criticism.

It makes no sense whatsover.

Maryland cop really shit the bed on this one. Stops to help what he thinks is a broken down car. Passenger of that vehicle crosses the road and tells the cop the driver is taking him to the hospital. Cop mistakenly thinks the guy has a gun so the cop shoots at him.

Cop quickly realizes he fucked up and the guy is unarmed. If you want to hear absolute panic listen to the cop freak and start saying "I'm sorry" about 50 times in a row. Cop is now charged with attempted murder and assault among other things.

Cop probably deserves what's coming to him, but I do feel a little bad for the guy. Never should have been a cop to begin with.

Palm Beach police wasted time and resources ticketing everybody who went to a cars and coffee meet up for "spectating racing."

They literally watched the entire meet up happen and then waited to write tickets to everybody at the end, including people who just recorded the cars driving away.

I can understand watching to see if there was any actual racing or reckless driving, but this was just road pirate shit. Slapping a fine on citizens for going to a social event held in public.

Then after the fact, they abused the copyright complaint system on YouTube to try to ban the channels that posted the videos showing what their idea of "police work" is.

This was so egregiously stupid. Trying to literally criminalize seeing something

I got charged with street racing and arrested once.

Plot twist I was in the passenger seat though....
Hahahaha

They wouldn’t drop the chargers & the judge tried to lecture me on the dangers of "speed." I told her i wasn't driving. She still made me take a defensive driving course before they dismissed the charge... Paid an attorney too just to make sure.

This guy brought up a good point. It was probably the rich people in the area who complained to the Sheriff about these meet ups, and the Sheriff told his deputies to issue tickets and make sure that they didn't come back.

What happened doesn't even come close to meeting the requirements of the offense that they cited people for because it was revised to be hyper-specific to street races after it was struck down as unconstitutional in the 00s.

In the end, it's going to hurt all of the taxpayers in the county because it seems like the people who got ticketed are all going link up and sue the department.

Feelings enforcement. And particularly feelings of the preferred class

Because their motto is don't tread on ME (and people like me), and police have traditionally been used to target 'others'

From right here in Las Vegas:

This dude is now in custody because they found child porn on the computers that they seized from him when they arrested him on the official oppression charges.

There's more been more reporting on the original charges. That unit anti-crime unit that he was commanding was just a big racial profiling operation on the strip.

Honestly, it seems to me like he's the scapegoat. The officers under his command where making false arrests and writing bogus reports too, so it's weird that he's the only one who got charged.

"I was just following orders" isn't a defense.

The entire purpose of the unit was to clear out undesirables to make tourists more comfortable. The taxpayers are probably going to get raked over the coals when all of the guys who got arrested sue.
