Crime What did the cops do wrong today Megathread Vol. 6 ? (who knows, lots of cop threads)

A former Ashtabula, Ohio police department lieutenant, who was responsible for $9 million in civil settlements because he's a trigger happy moron, was fired from the city PD after their insurance company told the city that he was uninsurable and that they would be dropped from their excess liability coverage if they didn't get rid of him.

However, he was immediately hired by the local Sheriffs office.

The sheriff said that he's a "good cop" whom the city should've fought for. (One of the shooting incidents involved the lieutenant paralyzing the victim of a home invasion who had managed to detain and hold down the burglar. Super cop burst through the front door and emptied his clip at the first person that he saw without saying a word.)

Additionally, despite the fact that the officer was fired, the city's insurance premiums have quadrupled. They also no longer have coverage for larger settlement amounts, meaning that they'll have to come directly from the city's general fund.

Amazing that you can ruin several lives and the entire budget of a town but still easily find work as a cop.

Cops get called on a white dude, that white dude tells them a random black dude is the guy they want, they proceed to beat the sh*t out of the random black dude...who is deaf and has cerebral palsy:

I hope this department gets f*ckin disbanded.

This happened right when Phoenix PD and the elected politicians in the city are claiming that they don't need federal supervision for the department.

The DOJ didn't go nearly far enough because they should've indicted all of the officers listed in their report.

It's not just Phoenix PD. All of the departments in Maricopa county and the prosecutors office are corrupt.

The fact that the prosecutors office is going forward with the case against the victim tells you how bad they are.

One of the most egregious examples of police brutality I've seen.

And they fucking doubled down after they found out he was deaf and charged him with resisting arrest. Then the cops that beat him show up to court to testify against him. The audacity of criminals going to court to testify against their victim. That's how you know that they know the whole fucking system is corrupt. They believe they can get away with beating an innocent deaf man.

The found out he was deaf AND disabled, and they continued to frame it as if he was the aggressor, even in the face of his girlfriend telling them they were lied to as she was on a video call the entire time. They were just that vehemently offended that a citizen, when attacked, would dare to attempt to defend himself.

Of course, the scumbags in the Phoenix police union are front and center in defending this nonsense.

Amazing that they have the fucking nerve to double down on the lies that these guys told to cover their ass when we can clearly see from the bodycam and surveillance footage that they attacked the guy.

This is a criminal organization that's funded by the taxpayers.

The Maricopa County Attorney was forced to release a statement on the McAlpin case because of the backlash.

She now says that she'll "personally review" the case.

There's no guarantee that she'll drop it because she's very corrupt and in bed with the local PDs, but the entire county is under scrutiny from the feds, so it's possible.

I hope they get disbanded. Walking Tall style

The Sheriff of Cobb County, Georgia got exposed for sending his deputies to harass workers at a local Burger King because he was angry about mayonnaise being put on his wife's burger.

He also wanted the name and address of the manager and/or owner so that they could get some at home harassment for getting his order wrong.

Cops getting screwed by other cops:

An Ohio cop is suing the local sheriffs department because of a botched sting where she was wrongly arrested for allegedly leaving her child with a registered sex offender.

The person whom she left her child with was her regular babysitter, who was an off duty police dispatcher.

She had her kid taken away and was suspended from her job for six months until the charges were dropped.

The investigating sheriffs deputies also took nude pictures off of her phone and passed them around the department.

An Illinois cop got falsely arrested for "chirping" his tires when he was on vacation in Tempe.

He claims that he was profiled in his rental car and that the Tempe cops became angry when he claimed that he was a LEO in response to repeated questions about guns, drugs or jewelry being in the car.

The offense that they arrested him on isn't even supposed to be arrestable without aggravating factors per the department's written policy.

He was also suspended from his job until the prosecutors said that they wouldn't be pursuing the charges.

He put in a FOIA request for the bodycam footage, but Tempe PD says that it will take at least 14 months for them to be able to provide it.

His opponent needs to make a meal of this. Get on camera and laugh about how fucking wild this was

This story sounds like it was made up on Reddit, but it's real.

Road workers were attacked by a drunk off duty cop who was mad that he couldn't make a left turn and were then arrested afterwards for "kidnapping" because they restrained the cop and waited for on duty officers to show.

Two workers are being held on $250,000 bonds.

St. Louis county police will not identify the off duty officer and the details of the charges against the workers are not publicly available.

Charges dismissed directly by the County Attorney.

Lawsuit time.

The latest reporting on this was that Phoenix PD actually opened an IA investigation into the two cops after the arrest, but this was not disclosed to McAlpin's defense or the court before the preliminary hearing where probable cause was found.

Phoenix PD also sent officers from its public relations office to observe the hearing.

So the department knew this was bullshit, but they were trying to gauge what the public reaction would be before they actually had to discipline the officers.

Stories shouldn't have to go viral to get charges dropped. Fuck the Injustice System.

LOL This is why nobody takes police unions seriously.

They're standing by the notion that the drunk who had just been trespassed from a convenience store for harassing the staff was a credible accuser against McAlpin that justified those two cops coming in hot and nearly killing him.

They also laughably say that McAlpin failed to communicate that he was deaf or disabled like he was actually given a chance.

I'm assuming that McAlpin doesn't have any kind of criminal record because these clowns would've definitely leaked it already to back up those two idiots.
