What are your thoughts on Leon's title reign?

Won the belt with a Hail Mary last minute shot, then beat the guy again who was already demoralized and shot. Then beat some bum that had no business getting a title shot. One of the weaker champs in recent memory.

It's going to be a parenthesis in the WW history. No one will remember his reign in 10 years time.

His "headshot dead" line became annoying by the belal fight. Casuals were acting like he was a knockout artist.

I lost respect for him when the shot ghost of Colby dissed his dad and he just point fighted him for 5 rounds instead of choosing violence.

Judges gifted Lawler those Hendricks and Condit fights TBH

I feel like I had him winning vs Hendricks, and was surprised they gave him the Condit fight. But i'd have to rewatch them.

Leon was pretty inactive in his run to a title shot, then got a lucky hail mary last minute KO, then we sat through a useless rematch, an undeserving Colby title shot until an actual contender got a shot. Then Leon was dominated start to finish.

His whole career has been boring besides the head kick KO. Now that he lost his title, I have no faith he's going to do anything but win a fight he likes the matchup and sit around for a free title shot. UFC is to blame for rank squatters, but it's firmly attached to Leon's reign.

The Usman rematch was a close fight and Colby did not fight at all except for the last couple of minutes. Belal made him fall asleep. Leon's championship "reign" was disappointing.

Sums it all up. Guy was 60 seconds away from complete obscurity. Leon feels like he belongs in the Mike Pierce/Rick Story/Stun Gun Kim tier of fighters... it genuinely looks weird to see his name listed amongst the champions because his career was that lackluster/forgettable besides the 1 single strike

He ended two clowns of the division in Marty and Colby. He should be celebrated

I would say relatively inconsequential. Leon fought Usman at the right time (past his prime) as Father Time remains undefeated. Kind of like Alvarez getting a UFC LW title shot when RDA had trouble making 155 and almost died during the weight cut one or two days prior to the fight. Timing matters. I don't think Leon is a Top 10 all-time UFC welterweight fighter. In fact, I would rate Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald in their primes higher than Leon Edwards and they never owned the UFC belt.

Not the greatest reign, but one of the greatest (if not the greatest) championship fight highlights of all-time.

I also felt he showed his best performance ever in the rematch, even if Usman looked gun-shy and Leon had a couple fouls he absolutely put on a masterclass performance with a perfect game-plan and destroyed Usman's legs and body consistently throughout the fight.

But a lackluster decision over a Colby he should've smoked and then losing to an underrated Belal doesn't leave a great taste about it overall - though to be fair, being made to fight at 5am was likely a huge factor, but so was getting dropped on his head!
