What are you playing? v.9 (Kefka Edition)

Is a bad launch a death sentence for a new IP?

Beat the game today. Spike one wasn’t to bad. Is the butterfly the one that split into two on each side of a bridge or the queen? The bridge boss battle was pretty tough with a boss on each side.

With that said undying king was the hardest boss in the game for me. No strategy I tried worked. Literally had to equip Leto armor, my coach gun and just unload on him as quickly as possible. Use my heal circle, the blood potions and just try to heal through everything long enough to kill him. Took a bunch of tires but it finally worked. Just needed good position and a bit of luck on what he and the mobs do. Everything in that boss fight was hitting me so hard without my Leto armor.
Undying is one of the easiest bosses for multiplayer. I do recall people saying he is hard on first run solo but he gets easy when you start grinding. The Butterfly is the bridge battle. The spike boss gets disgusting in multiplayer because the game scales when you have more players. He does get easy once you memorize the attack patterns and you don't care about your teammates. Teammates become a liability in that dungeon. Riphide can be hard on multiplayer too. My friend told me the Queen for the DLC is probably the hardest boss.

The game is super short. Now you are going to grind for gear. I am not sure what is your preferred build. I don't play melee or heavy.

The game is super short compared to todays standards but I actually found it to be a perfect length for me. I got 20 hours out of it and that's good for me. Lots of games these days can be way to long. I don't think I'll continue playing anymore. I had fun with it but don't really have any excitement to go back through the levels and try to get other bosses to spawn and grind for stuff. Going to move onto another game just not sure what yet. It's between trails into reverie or Baldurs gate 3.

Fallout 76

It's...interesting. It's funny at how they've worked so hard to make this acceptable to solo players. Thing started out as a "Make Your Own Adventure" type deal, with nothing but grinding and crafting. As of now, it's basically a single player Fallout game, with a few missions here and there that require a group. It's still not on par with a true single player Fallout experience, but it's damn close. You'll definitely get more mileage out of it, if you got into the crafting in F4. That seems to be the main focus here, and almost replicated the F4 experience. There are just some MP features that get in the way, which is funny to say, since it was so heavily focused on MP at launch.

It's alright, but it also still seems a little confused at what it wants to be. It would be great for a newcomer to the series, but veterans are still gonna feel the little differences, like an open world that feels pretty empty, no real good/evil options outside of missions(theft doesn't exist in this game, as far as I can tell), leveling via random card system, cities feeling less dense, etc.

I find the contrast between this and F4 a bit amusing. A lot of people didn't the grindy base building shit in F4 getting in the way of it's story, and it seems like this game has been slowly trying to shed it's MP features, for a more focused experience that appeals to the solo players, that make up it's fan base. It's almost like they should've just just released a regular ass sequel to Fallout 4, instead of this Frankenstein project.

I'm playing Fallout 76 as well. I bought it on release, and hated it.

Ended up getting it with GamePass and gave it a go on PC. My character is 400 and I still can't recommend the game to anyone. It's definitely some sort of Frankenstein game.

I really enjoy the Fallout series, I actually really like the feel of the game, but I cannot recommend it to anyone. I often am just waiting for an event to happen.

It feels like a practice in getting players to routinely login for a couple hours, roll their new weapons and sell the crap, knock out a few dailies, and getting a few dollars out of you through the atomic shop and Fallout First.

That said, I'll probably log in and try rolling for a Vampire, Exploding, -25 AP, handmade again later tonight.

Taking another stab at battle brothers Going to have some free time over the next few weeks, and this is one I always get sucked into. I’m not particularly perfect at the long term building and tend to get wrecked in the late game, but find the first 100-150 days very enjoyable. Maybe I’ll figure it out this time and make a longer run of it.

I’m starting with the peasant militia scenario but quickly realizing I’m going to rack up quite a large amount of casualties in this one because early in I don’t have enough money to fully gear everyone

I started play an old game I never finished called Transformers - Fall of Cybertron. It's the PC edition so the graphics still hold up well even though it was released back in 2012. It's really fun and worth taking a look at if you never played it back in the day!

Have been burnt out from playing War Thunder so aside Assetto Corsa on the sim rig lately I have gotten into Battlebit Remastered. Haven't had so much fun since playing Battlefield 42/Nam or co-op Operation Flashpoint.

@Sixstring
Do you like vidya games and vidya game accessories?

I may pick this up. I haven't played multiplayer fps in a long time and have been thinking recently how I want some meatgrinder gameplay. Was thinking of reinstalling Battlefield 4 for some Lockers and Metro but not sure how alive that game is nowadays

Mate, if you want some meatgrinder gameplay, the 254 player battlebit servers are the shit, it's elite fps mixed with hilarious chaos with minecraft men and destructible environments. It has the best gameplay/mechanics and weapon/skills progression, much like old school shooters, no pay 2 win crap.
Also there is proximity chat, from my experience everyone either on your team/squad or the enemy is just in it for fun and the camaraderie - banter. Even when you die everyones laughing too hard to be toxic/salty.

Some of the shit you can do is hilariously insane. A high level sniper and engineer. Sniper can spawn a drone, engineer places C4 packs on it while the sniper flies it into a blackhawk or a building full of enemies.

I do Bobby! Mostly family games like golf with my kids. I have Xbox game pass. Have some older titles on disc. I'd take suggestions on a good one I might find on game pass. :D

Started playing some Hi-Fi Rush on the deck. This game is fantastic.

Lol at Bobby.

Well alright! I mostly play on PC but I have gamepass for pc, I quite like golf and sport games! Actually wanna see if my back could handle 9 holes of a par 3 course irl.
Loved the old fight night series but I don't think I've ever played a just bleed game, maybe drunk at a mates place.

Do you have wreckfest?

Been going through Gotham Knights the last week co-op with a friend as Batgirl, Robin and Nightwing as he's been playing Red Hood.

The game I've read and been told is much better since launch last October. Picked it up cheap on last months sale, for that reason cause of the bad launch it had. It crashes pretty often still and it runs at 30 fps which is bad for a triple a game so it must've been really bad at launch.

Still a fun game and the only thing I don't like is the traversal and lack of a counter button. It feels to much like dark souls with all the dodge rolling you have to do.

Dark Souls remastered

Beat Ornstein and Smough today without summons
<Moves>

and Sif
<DCrying>
Very nice @ O&S. Summons is not the way. Sif bless. Big tie-in there with expansion lore. You have that too if playing Remaster, yes? So good. Will blow you away.

Did you end up being a Smough first, Ornstein second type of undead or what strategy/kiting worked for you?

Damn shame RDR gets ported to the Switch and PS4 but not PC. With that being said, I wonder how it’ll run via emulation.

Basically ran around until I isolated Ornstein enough to get a few whacks in whike two handing my +5 claymore. Rinse and repeat. Once he was dead I stayed close around Smough and rolled. I got super lucky as I just happened to run away to drink my flasks both times he did his aoe attack. I had zero flasks and two notches of health left when he fell lol.

It wasn't pretty but I won

I ordered Assassin Creed Origins and Oddessey. Never played Assassins Creed.

I got Origins delivered today. Brand new sealed game. I opened it up and there's no Assassins Creed game. It's Ghost Recon which I'm currently playing.

I know this Ghost Recon is a good game so I didn't go with the return and refund.
