Have any idea what happened to Jojored I think it was? He used to post here all the time. Don't even think I can find him anymore so I guess his account has been deleted.

His account hasn’t been deleted but @jojoRed is definitely MIA, having not posted in two years as of this coming Monday. No idea what happened to him. When Wukong released I was thinking of him because he was absolutely certain it was a scam and was never going to actually release.

Strange I was typing in Jojo and it wasn't coming up for me. Only some other person with "Fan" at the end of their name. I do remember his thoughts on Wukong as well and semi-agreeing with him at the time. I wasn't positive that it was a scam but I was open to the idea that it was very possible.

He was busy with work + kids but nothing changed to my knowledge that would explain the absence. He was great in this sub. I’ve written on his wall to say sup in the past in trying for a lifeline.

Most dawgs come home at one point or another. Hope he finds his way back.

Ah I see. That's a shame. Always enjoyed his contribution here and even in the anime thread at times.

Gears of War 3

There's really nothing else to play that interests me at the moment, so I decided to just continue on with the Gears shit. Nothing new to report, obviously. It's the same stop n' pop gameplay, although, I think I like the gunplay more here. One thing that felt a bit off(or perhaps more realistic) in the new games, was the kickback of all the guns. You really had to struggle to keep a stream of bullets going where you wanted them to go. Here, the guns are a bit more forgiving in that regard, and you can really turn the enemies into meat real quick. The caveat, is that enemies are actually smarter. They're hopping over shit and flanking you like crazy, which forces you to be a lot more mobile. In the newer games, you could clear out any area just by sticking behind some cover, and picking them off. They're WAY more aggressive here, but they do go down a bit easier as well, so it's a nice balance.

Also gotta say that it still looks great and doesn't feel dated at all. Those 7th gen machines were on another level.

Everyone is raving about dynasty warriors origins. I can’t tell if “good” is “good” relative to the other games or if it’s actually a great game

Gears 3 is amazing. Gamers always seem to conflate "content" with play time, but Gears 3 is a game that is really jam packed with content. An extensive campaign with co-op and arcade mode. Adversarial multiplayer. Horde mode. Beast Mode. I love it.

Was a bit skeptical to post this here because I'm not sure how people feel about Guitar Hero/Rock Band but here's me getting 100% on Holy Diver's end solo from GH 80s.

Yep, although I'm not too into all it offers. What I really appreciate from the series, is that despite the MP guys buying the shit out of it and keeping it relevant for so long, it still offers a very meaty campaign mode in every game. They didn't forget about guys like me, who just want to blast the shit out of cannon fodder, with great environments and set to a great soundtrack, and then maybe mess around a bit with the other modes. I'm from that generation where the campaign was always #1, and the rest was just a bonus. So many developers have gone the cheap route and offered up what is basically a tutorial for multiplayer, as far as a campaign goes. Not so with GOW.

Completed as few games recently:

Sanabi - this is a fun cyberpunk flavoured platformer where the main gimmick is you're a soldier with a chain hook arm, so you gotta swing around Tarzan style. I suck at platformers but I thought it had a really good difficulty curve so even I enjoyed it. But it really shines in terms of the story more than anything and also has a nice soundtrack. Really recommend it

Borderlands 3 - I could never get into the Borderlands games (Except Tales from the Borderlands). I played the first and second but didn't complete them, but I persisted through this one. I dunno, in a lot of ways (Like aesthetics, voice acting, world building) it's really good but the gunplay just doesn't feel satisfying to me and I only really liked the Jakobs guns, so collecting and selling loot all the time was kind of a chore

Brazilian Drug Dealer 3 - this is like Brazilian Quake and a fun, short boomer shooter though I wouldn't say it stands out beyond its wacky, quirky aesthetic

Uncharted 4 - thought this was awesome. Not a console gamer so I never played the first three but I'm kind of tempted to grab a console just to play them since apparently the first three aren't coming to Steam. I thought this was pretty outstanding in every way

Now I'm playing Crime Scene Cleaner, Dead Island 2, Titanfall 2 and there's like an Uncharted DLC game included in this Legacy Edition on Steam so I'll play that too

Bought Cyberpunk at launch. Played it about 20 minutes. Haven't touched it since. Loaded it up this weekend and fun so far. City seems gigantic and overwhelming. Find myself just exploring and screwing around for the most part

The second uncharted game is so good. I had no idea the whole series wasn't on Steam. I thought it was.

I pre-ordered it but didn't play it at launch because of the terrible first impressions. But finally played it last year and had a blast, it was awesome. I would recommend you buy the DLC if you haven't already because it's really good

Well I had a look and Naughty Dog said they wouldn't release the first three because of technological restrictions/them being too outdated. Maybe I can find an emulator that'll let me play them

It's about 15 bucks. There is a demo. If you want to try it out for cheap. You can buy the game account for 8 bucks on the grey market.

Strange. I can agree that 1 is to outdated IMO. 2-3 though felt great and still look good. Surprised they wont just give it to Nexis to handle it.

I dropped Lies of P. I was enjoying it but it got much harder around chapter 5 and having to use the parry mechanic is just not fun. It's not as fun or well done as it is in Sekiro. I don't understand why they made it like this. First setup a stagger bar, then hit them with a big swing? Seems like something they overly complicated just for the sake of being different.

They copied so much from, Fromsoft they should have just copied the Sekiro combat on top of it. I might go back and try it again maybe with a different weapon but for now I've dropped it.

Went ahead and started playing Daybreak 2. Daybreak 3 comes out in the fall and I wanted to have a good gap between the two. So far I'm enjoying it but a bit annoyed that playing the demo didn't bring over the trophies I popped in the demo. I'm going for the plat which requires 2 playthroughs anyways so not a huge deal either way.

Still working on GT7 as well just casually playing that on the side.

Weird. Didn't they remaster them for the Uncharted Collection?
