Gears of War 4
Got the itch after a few rounds with "Gears Tactics". Oh' boy, do I ever suck at shooters now. I don't know what the fuck happened, but I can't aim for shit. I was never all that good, but I was able to manage on campaign modes. I would even bump up the difficulty on occasion. Now? I feel like that moron who couldn't make it past the "Cuphead" tutorial. I'm so inept.
Thankfully, it's a very forgiving game, where death doesn't matter all that much, since you can get crawl around and get revived by your AI companions, so I at least managed to get past the first act. It's alright, and the robot enemies are a nice change of pace, and reminds me of that other smaller game that came out quite a while ago, that was basically a GOW clone with robots. It's neat watching them get chewed up by my guns, whenever I can actually hit them. The story is alright so far as well, which I will need to drive me through the game that I suck at.
Other than that, it feels a bit archaic in design, where everything is just a gauntlet. When you see those chest high walls, you know a fight's coming. You walk a bit, you fight, you walk a bit more, you fight. That's it. It's very bare bones, other than them shoehorning in some "horde" mode into the campaign, where you set up barriers and turrets n' shit, which doesn't matter much since the enemies get rid of whatever you put down in two seconds.
Eh, I'll see how far I make it before throwing in the towel. Hasn't grabbed me, but I don't have much else to play at the moment, other than Elden Ring, which I'm still waiting out a bit after my first failed run.
