Holy shit. I'm back to speedrunning Sifu and got my PB last night which if I recorded it would have placed me at 48th in the world! Time was 25 minutes 36 seconds.

Going to do a few more practice runs today

I never played Fortnite and have no idea how baseball player Shohei Ohtani makes sense in that game. The likeness seems pretty good though. Good that they got the Dodgers/MLB license too.

Fortnite does right by their players unlike stingy peers. Collab after collab and content faucet always on, Fortniters eat well. Glad you’re having a good time.

Decided to make myself crazy and plat all of the Legend of Heroes games. Got nothing to play until end of April, so gonna give it a shot.

Have CS1 and 3 done. CS2 and 4 are only one away each, but I have to play pretty much the whole games to get them.

Finished Daybreak today. Daybreak 2 only has a few left, should be quick.

The old non 3d ones though.... lotta work.

So 3/12 games so far.

Demon's Souls remake

So far so good. Game looks and plays great and I'm enjoying the slower gameplay, having recently played Bloodborne, this is a nice change of pace. Decided to sword and board my way through it because I've read that magic is super op in this game. These blue eyed bastards that heal themselves can fuck right off though.

Gears of War 4

Got the itch after a few rounds with "Gears Tactics". Oh' boy, do I ever suck at shooters now. I don't know what the fuck happened, but I can't aim for shit. I was never all that good, but I was able to manage on campaign modes. I would even bump up the difficulty on occasion. Now? I feel like that moron who couldn't make it past the "Cuphead" tutorial. I'm so inept.

Thankfully, it's a very forgiving game, where death doesn't matter all that much, since you can get crawl around and get revived by your AI companions, so I at least managed to get past the first act. It's alright, and the robot enemies are a nice change of pace, and reminds me of that other smaller game that came out quite a while ago, that was basically a GOW clone with robots. It's neat watching them get chewed up by my guns, whenever I can actually hit them. The story is alright so far as well, which I will need to drive me through the game that I suck at.

Other than that, it feels a bit archaic in design, where everything is just a gauntlet. When you see those chest high walls, you know a fight's coming. You walk a bit, you fight, you walk a bit more, you fight. That's it. It's very bare bones, other than them shoehorning in some "horde" mode into the campaign, where you set up barriers and turrets n' shit, which doesn't matter much since the enemies get rid of whatever you put down in two seconds.

Eh, I'll see how far I make it before throwing in the towel. Hasn't grabbed me, but I don't have much else to play at the moment, other than Elden Ring, which I'm still waiting out a bit after my first failed run.

I never played Fortnite. Only watched the video showing Shohei in the game on Apple News.

Picked up Serious Sam TSE on sale and tried it briefly. There is this headless kamikaze enemy that screams while it charges at you and then blows up. Hilarious and stressful. You can hear him coming but have no idea which direction.

It reminds me of a similar enemy in a different game but I can't put my finger on it. Sort of like the panic you feel when you hear an archvile spawn in Doom Eternal, but they don't chase you. Maybe a pinky? Elden Ring has some exploding enemries but they don't have a sound cue.

You might run into a snag near the end. There's one particular sequence that's apparently ridiculous on "insane". Haven't tried it myself, but I've seen it highlighted on many "hardest parts" lists. I believe it's the final enemy gauntlet.
Yea I think I know what you’re taking about. Tons of banshees. Which is the only enemy I haven’t faced yet but I’ve destroyed everything else so we will see. Phantoms are the toughest for me so far.

Binary Domain? When I searched the name to double check, I learned that the game was made by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

Gears of War 4

Okay, I've shaken the rust off and can now actually play the game without feeling like a helpless moron. I'm roll dodging and shotgun blasting like...a person who is very average at the game.

Anyways, I'm getting into it now. The story is picking up, and I just love the direction of the game. You start out all happy and sunny, and then you slowly descend into a pit of Hell. It's actually pretty funny, too. The whole sequence where you go and ask a retired Marcus Phoenix to help you out, and then have to escape the enemies, was hilarious. He's always pointing to more and more of his property you can hide away in, only to watch it get destroyed right before you get there, LOL. Reminded me of a particular couple of episodes of "Review", if you've ever seen that show, where the host's mere presence just fucks his father's entire life up.

Anyways, it's good shit. It's GOW. Just nonstop action and gore, and once it hooks you, it's hard to put down and not just go for that next checkpoint and story beat. It's a very addictive loop, even if it's a little dated. Will definitely be playing this one to the end.

Serious Sam is a great time. I've played all of them and the first one is still the best IMO, but the others are still fun. The Headless Suicide Bombers are a classic. There are other enemies in Serious Sam like them who will rush you in the same way and all have their own unique sound so you know they're coming

Probably not what you're thinking of, but the one video game baddie that would cause me the most panic just from hearing them were the Black Head Crabs from Half Life 2

Also the Bloodsuckers from Stalker

Yeah Serious Sam is awesome. I read some comment comparing it to Doom Eternal so I obvously had to try it. And they just happened to be on sale so I ended up getting almost the entire franchise for like ten bucks.

Played a bit of the first two encounters and they're hella fun but fucking hard. I made it to the third level in the first game but was getting my ass kicked by all the skeleton horses and those damn frogs. Gonna try again tonight but not sure how to deal with them.

Did you play them a long time ago or have you seen the HD versions and Fusion? They're great if you haven't. Why did you like the first one best?

Haven't played Half Life or Stalker yet but they're on my list. I never realized how fun these old shooters are and they're dirt cheap so it's great.

I know exactly the encounter you're talking about when you say you're getting your ass kicked by the skeletons and frogs haha. I had a lot of trouble with that one too when I first played.

I played the originals back when they first released but also the HD versions when they came out. Maybe I have more nostalgia for the first one because I loved it so much when I was a kid and it was exactly the kind of fps I wanted (Same with Painkiller and having to deal with big hordes of enemies). The later games are still fun, but I find their level designs get more annoying and the movement and gunplay feel jankier.

For sure Half Life 1 & 2 and Stalker should be on your list, they're both amazing. Although for Stalker I'd say in advance you gotta look into a overhaul mod like Gamma. Stalker is one of those games where the modding community stepped up big time and made it 100x better

Tomb of Ramses is the level. Those kleers and frogs are brutal man. The flamethrower you get in the second game would make this part a breeze but it's rough with just the shotgun and dual pistols.

Yeah I tried a bit of 3 and 4 and the urban city setting is kinda boring compared to the Egyptian and Mayan temples of the originals. I'm playing Painkiller too and keep switching between the two games. They're similar gameplay wise but the movement in Serious Sam is more polished imo.

Half Life has almost a mythical reputation so I'll have to play it eventually. And I appreciate the mod recommendation for Stalker. It looks a bit like FEAR which I already own but haven't played yet.

Was gifted Sonic Frontiers. Not a Sonic fan by any means but heard this is a fun game even if you aren't. Only played about an hour so far but it is actually really enjoyable so far
