Beat Kingdom Come 1 last weekend. It was a fantastic game but I basically only did the main story. The game just looks so horrible at times. When you are outside in the woods it looks good enough but in towns man it can look really bad and it was sort of souring the experience for me. Made me not want to do anything but just follow the main story. Not to mention I got two crashes one day and then the next day also. With the save system in this game the last thing I wanted to do was get so involved with SQ and then have it crash on me.

The Main story in this game is really great you are basically just an investigator in medieval times it's really well done. I wish I would have known that earlier. I always thought this game was much more reliant on combat and like sieging castles. Didn't know the main story would be so good either. It's a genuinely well done story and when you find out how everything started it's kind of mind blowing how ridiculous it is but at the same time it's very grounded. Going to wait a long time before I jump into the second one.

Started up the man who erased his name and I'm just going to casually play through this. The first chapter was already great and I'm really enjoying the style of this game. Also downloaded a few racing games as I want to get into one. Motorfest has a 5 hour trial and while I semi-enjoying it I just don't think I'm that into arcade racers. Download My first GT and it was much more my speed and what I'm wanting to do. You get penalized for crashing into other cars, going off track, etc. The game doesn't seem to give you much to do though and there's no way I'm buying GT7 full price, I'm not that into racing games.

I bought physical copies of persona 3 reload … stellar blade and Baldur gates 3 … gotta play them
Baldurs gate 3 is amazing. Persona was pretty good but I liked 5 a lot more. Haven’t played Stellar blade yet but it’s on the list.

Is The Man Who Erased His Name more akin to the older games than the newer ones? I have that game as well, but I've been diligent in trying to not look too far into them ahead of actually playing (which is more difficult than it seems).

Me and the wife are waiting on the new civ game….we’re so close sherbros

Maybe I'll buy this one. I used to love the Civ games (Civ Call to Power was my fav) but haven't played the last few that released

Always loved rockets, played as a solider in TFC(the Halflife mod version) as well, loved predicting were someone/thing would move to...

I played through the Soul Reaver remasters. Still love the first game, pretty meh on the second. Thinking back, it was a title I only played through once and didn’t remember anything about it. It feels like an incomplete game. I missed the unique dungeons of the first one, the boss encounters, the atmosphere. I was basically just wandering around the same few areas but with slightly different looks and enemies. Pretty disappointed tbh.

I’m now almost done with Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Now that’s a game that still holds up. Ball bustingly difficult at times but rarely feels cheap. Incorporating fighting game mechanics into an action game like this was genius. I’m having more fun with it than I do when I go back to the first game. Brutal, satisfying combat that’s really ever only held back by the camera. The remaster looks stunning as well. Has me thoroughly hyped for Gaiden 4.
Fuck those ninja gaiden boss fights.

I liked the game but those boss fights can fuck right off.

As far as gameplay yes. It has the action combat and not the turn-based combat. Game seems to shorter also with only five chapters. Which once I learned that made sense because the story started right away and hasn't stopped just constantly new shit happening. It's actually been great.

The bosses are the easiest part of this game lol.

Alma was a bitch in the first one for sure though.

Are these chapters really long to get through?? Only five seems wild, most of them have like 16. I've noticed that some of the chapters in other games could have been merged together, as you don't really do a lot in some and get through a chapter without doing much.

Idk how people are generally feeling about 7 and 8, with new characters and systems, but I've heard they're very good, and I will get around to them. But I can't say that Kiryu hasn't been an awesome character and the combat system in the earlier games is really my speed. I was kinda distraught when I heard 7 was so much different, and am really happy to hear The Man Who Erased His Name is along the lines of the classic games. Pirates appears to be that way as well, so guessing they're gonna continue with the new style in mainline games and still make these spinoffs using the old style, and I'm OK with it.

Yea I was kind of shocked by how many chapters it had also. It's apparently still about 12 hours to finish if you just push through the main story (which is what I always do with these games). So I'm fine with a good 12 hour game. Chapter one was only like 1.5 hours though so I'm guessing the rest are going to be very long.

I've enjoyed every single game I've played in this series which is pretty much all of them minus Infinite. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the turn based changes but it's actually really fun but overall it seems the games are harder to get through. I couldn't just rush through the main story the way I like to do it. I had to stop two different times in the first Like a Dragon game and grind money\gear and another time levels. It wasn't to bad honestly but it did take me overall about 1 hour each time.

I'm glad they are still using the old combat system though because that's why I originally got into the series. No other series really does anything like this with a deep story on top of it. These games are always good to sort of take a break from the normal stuff and get something completely different in the mix.

Damn, I had like 300 hours of play time with 0 lmao. I suppose a lot of those hours were either me getting sidetracked with other things and just putting the sticks down and standing in place, or doing karaoke, which is one of my favorite things about those games, but it generally takes me a long time to finish one. I've been playing them for like 3 years now. I suppose it is relative, though. 0 took a while bc it was really fun and I did almost everything the game has to offer, but 3 and 5 took a long time bc it was a chore starting with the Kiwami games and then moving to the remasters. 4 didn't take me quite as long, even with the older engine, bc it was still pretty fun. I think I put down 3 like three or four times and played other games before picking it back up. 3 has been rumored to be getting the Kiwami treatment for a while, though, it may be wishful thinking, but I'd probably enjoy it a lot more if they did it.

Yea I've heard people really enjoy the side activities but I personally have just never enjoyed it. The main story is all I've ever really cared about.

It was tough for me to get through 3,4, and 5. The old engine and all that but I kind of expected that to happen. I would be kind of surprised for them to go back and give those other games the Kiwami treatment but at the same time that studio seems to do nothing but pump out games left and right.

That studio and those games get tons of comparisons to Rockstar, but they're like the anti-Rockstar. I wish Rockstar had their output, sick of waiting 5 years for a new game from them at all
