This is actually the first time I've ever held a PS5 controller and i got to say, first impressions aren't good. Feels kinda bulky and too slick. Anyway i'm sure i'll get used to it.
I'm resisting the urge to dive into Bloodborne or Demon Souls until i get back from vacation next month. Probably gonna start with Spiderman 2
Learning Sifu speedruns now. Haven't recorded a run yet but I checked speedrun.com and I'd be ranked 67th. Much room for improvement but not too shabby for only 4 days of doing it.
Forgive Me Father - really fun, Lovecraftian fps with a comic book style, meaty weapons and generally lots of charming details. I didn't hesitate to buy Forgive Me Father 2 afterwards, will start that soon
Cloudpunk - really good, chill game where you play a delivery driver in a sci-fi city, floating around in your hover car meeting various people and customers as a story unfolds around you. I really enjoyed it, it has a great aesthetic and there's plenty to discover
Anyone tried this yet. I know the graphics look absolutely awful, but it has been pretty cool so far.
Basically it is an MMO, but offline with simulated characters. It really feels like playing Everquest back in the late 90s. You see the characters out adventuring, killing things and what not. They do shouts and stuff looking for groups or items. If you group with someone, and you do a good job, you can get whispers from them later to group back up.
Obviously not perfect, and still early, but so far the demo has been a lot of fun.

Definitely going to look into this. Played a ton of EverQuest growing up and it's probably some of my most fond gaming experiences. Love the idea of mmo's, but way to much going on these days with the family to commit that kind of time.
Would love to tap into that type of game again, without the stress of finding groups and logging out any time I wanted.

Sony fucked up selling EQ. Now they’re owned by a studio called Daybreak. With Sony going for a live service push wouldn’t it make perfect sense to bring EQ back? They can market it as the Elden Ring of MMOrpgs. It actually kind of was lol. Mmorpgs today are filled with quest markers, dailies, etc. During the EQ days you had to explore and group with other people or else you’d have a hard time playing the game. Elden ring captures some of that spirit of exploration. I think if they remastered it or even remade it from the ground up it could find some success.
I should also add EQ still has expansions made. It’s insane lol. They must all be around my age or older. Keep in mind I was on the young side when I played EQ. Most people in the guild had kids. The people still playing must be in their fifties

Damn that's kind of crazy EQ was around even before WOW. I had friends who played EQ back in the day. I remember telling them to get ready to drop that game forever because Blizzard is about to release their MMO and is going to make everyone look dumb. They did exactly that. All of them dropped EQ and went over to WOW.
The only thing that sucks is every single one of them happened to join a server that wasn't mine and my other friends so we were split up. Then on top of that that they all started getting stuck in long queues to login, like 30 min+ wait times. I never had that issue so they eventually all moved over to mine. When I say moved over I mean they had to completely relevel all their characters. This was before WOW allowed you to transfer.

They launch one every year. But they are all basically the same. Like gear is almost the exact same, but now like 2 points higher. (Game has like 20 stats now). Same amount of zones. Same progression for getting through them, etc..
The games survives totally on its special rules and TLP servers
I'm still forging on in my quest to play all of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games. I recently got through 5, and am onto 0, and 0 is amazing. Most fun I've had since Kiwami 2

0 is probably my favorite one so far. Followed by 6. I'm about to buy the man who erased his name. It took me forever to catch up on this series especially because I don't want to play them back to back. Meanwhile they keep pumping out new entries every single year so I'm already 2 games behind again and soon it will be 3 games.

Wanted to get through what I'm lacking before the Pirate Yakuza game is released, will never happen. I'm just gonna skip ahead and play it, especially since 0 has Majima as a playable character and I'm already acquainted with using him. Pirate Yakuza is probably gonna be the GOAT (at least in my world)
People should just play what they want. Video games are meant to be fun, not stressful. I see people comment a lot on how they need to play 2024 games before 2025 games or how they must complete a billion games in a series before getting the latest. As kids growing up I don’t remember anyone giving a shit about this. I recall Phantasy Star IV being my first jrpg. Never even crossed my mind to play the other 3 first. Same with Sonic or any other franchise. The backlog talk is one of my pet peeves among gamers too. Like bro why are you buying so many games and not finishing them in the first place? I prioritize my gaming based on what I’m hyped about and then once I finish it I move onto the next. If Pirate Yakuza sounds cool just buy it. I doubt it’s so confusing that it’s unplayable. Most modern games have summaries or at the very least try to respect the fact that not everyone has played each one and approach their storytelling in an comprehensive way.
I feel like we should be getting a new trailer for Wilds any day now. It’s been a long time since we got a new monster reveal. I love the hype leading up to these games.
Spiderman 2 is blowing me away. The attention to detail is incredible. You can look into almost any building and see a fully fleshed out office with NPC's working. The reflections are accurate if you turn around and look behind you. The cut scenes are incredible and the gameplay is a blast.
Definitely a bad game but still entertaining because of how bad and jank it is. Will eventually finish it. I'm at Criminal Enterprise Tier 4
Space Marine 2:
Trying to get the Platinum for it. Need to play some more Eternal War and that's it. I have the rest. Also, trying to finish some of these Ops on "Lethal" Difficulty but not having the best luck so far. Only tried Inferno and furthest I got was the Transport of the Bomb section. All 6 classes are at level 25 but my guns still need some work Only have a couple maxed at Relic (all perks) and Still need to max perk my Thunder Hammer and Power Sword to make the Assault and Bulwark more viable on Lethal.
Dredge:
Pretty good spooky fishing simulator game with Lovecraftian elements bore into it. Only just passed the tutorial about 2 hours in. Will give it some more play tomorrow.
