Soooo Shinobi definitely gets going quicker and is genuinely fun to play, I am glad I didn't give up on NG Ragebound though. NG takes a little longer to kick into gear but once it does it's really cool.Voted Link to the Past. So many memories. The soundtrack is spectacular.
So I finished DK Bananza this weekend- best game I have played this year so far. I felt like a kid again playing as DK, just smashing stuff, climbing everything, banging my chest, etc. It's a LOT of fun. They did a great job giving each layer its own personality. The final sequence is incredible...
Now I am alternating between Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and Shinobi. LIkeing Shinobi a bit more atm but I'm not too deep into either of them yet, so we'll see.
I did pick up Ghost of Yotei, but haven't unwrapped it yet- saving that for when it's really cold here and I won't be going out much. I haven't been here for a while cuz I didn't really play any games over the summer.
Can't believe this is a contest, tbhLink to the Past will forever be my favorite Zelda. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Glad to see a vote for Twilight Princess though. That game gets too much hate. I thought it was pretty fantastic.
Completed Returnal and only missing one last sunshard thing in biome 6 which I’ll do tonight, and then gonna start Silent Hill 2 tonight or tomorrow. Returnal was such a rough start for me, but my love and adoration for Housemarque pushed me through it, and im glad I stuck with it. Super solid game. Some stuttering and slow start were my only gripes. Cool weapons and upgrades combined with pretty cool enemy designs. Presentation was on point
Switched from game pass to PS whatever, because of the cost, and saw SH2 was included. That’s awesome. Can’t wait to start it.
+1. Absolutely hated and cursed Returnal myself, putting it down for literally 2+ years. Came back on a whim to give another try just earlier this year and it's one of the best games I've ever played. Very hard. Top-shelf shooter mechanics and enviro immersion. I'm beyond pumped for SAROS now. Make it make sense...Link to the Past will forever be my favorite Zelda. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Glad to see a vote for Twilight Princess though. 2027 mixmastermo...Still haven't finished Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
Still haven't unwrapped Ghost of Yotei
Still havent unwrapped Black Myth Wukong
Still haven't picked up Ninja Gaiden 4
Metroid Prime 4 is on the way...
So many flavors, and not one of them is salty.
I might be a recluse for the next few months...

Returnal had me questioning my gaming skills. Had I really fell off so hard? Is this a bad game, or am I just a bum now, and ready to put gaming behind me?! Yes and no.+1. I suppose I would leave my cave for the chance to kick a dinosaur in 2027.

I haven't gotten far in Returnal either.. not cuz I hate it but I honestly thought I wasn't gud enough. I will have to go back to it at some point.Returnal had me questioning my gaming skills. Yes I fell off a bit, but no, the game is awesome, and you just got to learn the system, S9….
Agree completely with you. Saros looks amazing. I’m hoping HM decides to do something a little less arcade-y, eventually. I love them for sticking with that type of gameplay, which is the reason I fell in love with them as a dev(resogun, alienation, and Nex Machina are amazing), but I would really love to see what they could do with something that is overall a bit more complicated in the gameplay area. They seem to have a true love for their craft
Keep at it! It took me quite some time to just get passed even the first biome. Like, an embarrassing amount of time that I won’t reveal…I haven't gotten far in Returnal either.. not chz I hate but I honestly thought I wasn't gud enough. I will have to go back to it at some point.
I think your review might speak to the uninitiated, and not the veterans. This game is one of the GOATs, that only players of the original will really get into. I totally understand your position from a new player's perspective. The controls in particular are...hoo boy...unorthodox to be sure. As is all the menu heavy micro management. Especially compared to today's standards. However, there are no rose colored glasses needed for those of us who played the OG. It's a satin, diamond studded glove of nostalgia.Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (or
whatever the fuck this game is called)
3/ 10
This game has not aged well. I get the appeal of these games is all the little details and the 4th wall breaks (one of which caused me to miss the only fight i was looking forward to) but man, every single thing about the gameplay feels like it was designed to artificially extend the playtime. The controls, the camera, the UI, the god-awful and immersion breaking healing system, the gimmicky boss fights....everything is a chore in this. If you have fond memories of this and are looking back with rose colored glasses, do yourself a favor and don't revisit it. The only reason it gets a 3 is because the cutscenes look amazing. The only reason I stuck it out to the end was because I knew it was short and I paid $70 for it.
It also ends with the worst escort mission I've ever played followed by the worst final boss I've ever played.
Yeah, i know tons of people love this game and i've played MGS games before enough to know these games are janky especially the older ones. I thought they would clean some of the jank up, especially for $70. They didn't. At all.I think your review might speak to the uninitiated, and not the veterans. MGS games in general are a little weird in design, and pretty rough by today's standards. If you grew up with these games, though, I can't see it being anything but a perfect upgrade. Agree on the final boss fight being underwhelming, but they were going for a more cinematic feel to it. I consider the crazy multi-tiered fight with Volgin, to be the real final boss fight, as opposed to the fight in the flowers.
For as much shit as it got I thought it was underrated.Well, I finally finished Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
I started it a while ago after finishing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. But I found the lasso really dumb, and think it was just too much since Infinite Wealth took 100 hours.
I restarted The Man Who Erased His Name, and i must say, I LOVED this game.
The gimmick gadgets actually get real fun when you upgrade them enough. It was amazing how I was so much preferirng Yakuza style, but then with the upgrades Agent Style was great too!
Pros:
+ Much punchier and more respectful of the players time. I got all achievement in a little over 30 hours I think. Not completely overloaded with side stuff to do and they toned down somewhat the time and difficulty of things like pocket racer
+ Technically great - never crashed once, excellent graphics
+ The Coliseum is super fun, team building is awesome
+ Akama is a real cool character, and the central hub of side missions good too. Incorporates the main side games well and makes them more rewarding
+ The ending -- holy shit does it ever hit hard! Loved loved the ending
+ Nice to have real time combat back! Nice variety of moves, enemies don't feel cheap, aren't spongie
Cons:
- Outside of the ending, the story is forgettable and skippable
- Some of the Akama point building missions are lame -- wearing certain clothes
- Change of scenery would have been welcome, but understandable for the story why it was Dotenbori again though the Castle is BEAUTIFUL
By the way, totally stupidly hilarious how people don't "recognize" Kiryu because his big disguise is..... WEARING GLASSES.

Ah, bud. I'm so sorry. WTF.My girlfriend bought me Expedition 33 a couple months ago and just passed away.
I feel like it will be hard to push through but I should still play it.
So sorry to hear this man. I don't know your or your mindset right now but please understand E33 is all about loss and it might be a tough playthrough considering what just happened to you. There's no need to push yourself through anything. It will be there for you ready to play when you are truly ready. My girlfriend bought me Expedition 33 a couple months ago and just passed away.
