I'm pretty sure barbers must be licensed and pass a test to get licensed because the state government doesn't want unqualified dumbasses harming the general public, but apparently there are higher profile jobs where the masses of dumbasses allow a famous dumbass to appoint another dumbass to harm the masses of general public.

I've had the same type of haircut ever since I was a kid, French Crop, grade 4, back and sides. Results varied a bit, not too much.

It seems like mens hair is more bespoke than when I was a kid though. They ask more questions so I get more nervous.

My missus cuts my hair now. She knows what I want and she hasn't failed me so far.

When I visited a barber to have it rectified I could see how his face made a tortured grimace through the mirror as he was asssessing the damage. The sight had cut deep in his artist soul that day, and it was plain for all to see.
