Weinstein: Fall of an Empire

I think one of the issues that this has arisen is whether Harveygate went like this:

Aspiring Actress: "Thanks for casting me in your movie Mr. Weistein."

Harvey: "Let's have sex."

Aspiring Actress: "No."

Harvey: "Your career in this town is OVER!"

Aspiring Actress: "What?"

Harvey: "I have friends in LA, NY, and DC. Your career as an actress, screenwriter, and journalist is OVER."

Aspiring Actress: "I'm calling the press. They will protect me and expose you for who you really are."

Harvey: "Nope. I have many columnists on my bankroll. They will kill the story, Plus, if a story comes to light, I'll call my buddies at the editor's desk and pull my movie's advertisements from their paper. YOU CAN'T WIN!"

If thats the case then affected women should start looking for help at the time of that happening. Even if it would go the way you think where story is killed because of this and that, you still have proof that you started something and in future could be more meaningful to bring this guy down. Now those girls got nothing, only allegations, no actual proof. If something like that happen to me, dude, I would seek help wherever I could, Police, press, lawyer, you name it. And then comeout today and say 'look guys, I been reporting this happening, but no one listened!'. All press defending Weinstein would lose all credibility instantly.

Plus with smart phone recording the game ain't what it was 20+ yrs ago.

So, to explain a little more about why I don't believe celebrities' political opinions really influence people, I'll explain a little bit.

There is some debate as to whether advertising, more specifically tv commercials, are actually effective. It's difficult to quantify, but they were able to do it I believe when one football team made it to the Super Bowl two years in a row, which allowed them to control for all other factors besides firms that ran commercials during the Super Bowl. And they did find the commercials were effective.

However, there is no research that I know of which shows using celebrities gives you any greater return on that advertising vs not using celebrities for the same commercials. And we're not even talking about political opinions which, if you've ever seen the war room, are pretty much hard wired and unchanging for people. So I really doubt celebrity political ads have any effect on people's opinions.

Dang back in 2005, Courtney Love warned young girls as an advice don't go to any harvey weinstein private parties. So all these people who were on their high horse in hollywood while slandering others and virtue signaling allowed this and all knew weinstein was a perve

Also she said Harvey didn't sleep with her because she was Jewish, he only slept with Shiksas or non Jewish women or Gentiles.

makes sense actually, shiksas is basically calling women hoes

I saw some reporters talking to him the other day. Dude seriously thinks all he has to do is go to rehab and then all will be forgiven. Something about "everybody makes mistakes, guys... Second chances... I hope".

Yeah. Right. He'll be lucky if he doesn't end up in Jail.

Brad Pitt told Harvey he better never touch Paltrow again.

The hints were everywhere.

This is from 30 Rock. "I turned down sex with Harvey Weinstein no less than three occasions....out of five."

In England we recently had a big scandal involved young football/soccer players being sexually abused by coaches as well. Incidents dating back decades that were all covered up by managers and clubs

This is too common and it fucking sucks. Sad!

I find pathetic for all this women now coming out and accusing him of rape and shit 2-3-5-10 years ago to boost their careers.

My questions is.

Where the fuck these women were 2-3-5-10 years ago? Why everyone suddenly accusing this guy of sex contracts and shit.

The true is that there is always a man willing to boost someone career for a sex and there is always a woman willing to sell body for career boost. Simple as that. No sympathy whatsoever.

I think the Cosby case had a snowball effect for women to come out and accuse this type of behavior, just in the last year we have seen other cases like Harry Knowles from aintitcool and the guy from honest trailers.

Your last statement pretty much sums up why no one talked about it 5 years ago, everyone just thinks a producer fucking young girl is normal, models are whores, the enterteinment industry is full of pervs, etc. etc. there was no sympathy whatsoever so why even bother?.

Are many of them lying or not taking responsability of their actions? probably. Also maybe they want to clean it up for the next generations.

That's a good 17 minutes, thanks for that.

Edit: And its almost inconceivable to me, that as Rogan puts it, the black father of America, Mr Huxtable, Bill Cosby, could be the biggest rapist of all time. Most of the time rape is committed the person is caught, or a serial rapist might do 5 or 10 rapes then get caught, but Bill Cosby may be the biggest rapist of the modern era. That's insane to me.

This problem is incredibly widespread in both film and music. Here is a crossover story to help illustrate that point. How many remember Lou Pearlman?

Lou Pearlman was the boy band manager for groups like Nsync and Backstreet Boys. He ultimately went to prison for a Ponzi scheme that cost investors 300 million dollars, and he died while in prison but there was always the allegations that he was a :eek::eek::eek:. This problem arcs across both film and music and has for a long time. This from ABC News.

Awaiting trial on bank fraud charges and accused of scamming thousands of senior citizens out of millions of dollars, Lou Pearlman, the pop-music impresario who founded the Backstreet Boys, now faces the prospect of life in a big house very different from the 15,000-square-foot mansion he once occupied outside Orlando, Fla.

Just what took place in that house -- complete with movie theater, video games, pool table, swimming pool and a planned bowling alley -- has become the focus of a series of very different allegations by young men who claim Pearlman acted inappropriately, molested them or sought to exchange sex for help with their careers.

In the November issue of Vanity Fair, Pearlman, for the first time publicly, is described by several former singers, aspiring singers and their parents as a lecher, who used the same deceptive charms to cop cheap feels off teenage boys as he did to allegedly bilk 1,400 investors out of more than $300 million.

Pearlman has since denied the allegations from prison.

In the late '90s, just as the Backstreet Boys and 'NSync, Pearlman's biggest boy bands, hit it big in the United States, Pearlman was grooming a stable of youngsters to take their place. After auditioning, these kids, some as young as 13, were relocated to Orlando where they would regularly rehearse and spend their free time at Pearlman's home.

Another group of young men regularly at the house were a staff of personal assistants, some of whom told Vanity Fair they were promised jobs in bands in exchange for providing sexual favors to Pearlman.

The connections between Hollywood, Music, and Washington are strong and they are all into sick, and often deviant sexual behavior. I mean good lord, Harvey Weinstein was a major donor to Bill and Hillary's campaigns and lived next door to them at one point.

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton is flying something like 17 times with no secret service on the Lolita Express with :eek::eek::eek: monster Jeffrey Epstein.

Why are the powerful friends of Bill and Hillary sexual deviants?

After the Obama family returns from their post-inauguration vacation to Palm Springs, three of them—Barack, Michelle, and Sasha—will readjust to civilian life in Kalorama, a D.C. neighborhood located just two miles from their old digs. The missing family member? That would be 18-year-old Malia, who’s reportedly off to a new adventure: an internship for mega-producer Harvey Weinsten.

Fox now reporting that Weinstein helped pay for Bill Clinton's legal defense during the Monica Lewinski scandal.

Harvey Weinstein is no stranger to sex scandals – back when Bill Clinton was battling allegations he lied about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, Weinstein had the president’s back, and a hefty check in hand.

A recently uncovered 1998 story in The Washington Post lists the powerful producer – now accused of sexual harassment and assault by numerous women – among several Hollywood heavyweights who gave the maximum $10,000 to Clinton’s legal defense fund.

Yes Woody, tell us how sad you are about this.

UPDATE: Woody Allen has clarified his comments on Harvey Weinstein after originally stating, ""The whole Harvey Weinstein thing is very sad for everybody involved." "When I said I felt sad for Harvey Weinstein, I thought it was clear the meaning was because he is a sad, sick man," Allen said (Via Variety). "I was surprised it was treated differently. Lest there be any ambiguity, this statement clarifies my intention and feelings."

Woody Allen addressed the "very sad" Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal in a new interview where the filmmaker admitted that he was unaware of the severity of the claims against the producer.

With people like that, it is more likely that the 'I need to go to rehab' is just a damage control strategy that is commonly used to try to spin the situation into him being a 'victim of his disease' or whatever. So that people will feel pity or sympathy for him. It's a con.
