I am at the college libary and this girl sits right next to me, looks wise she is not bad and then she starts small talk in regards to what course Im taking and what have you.

So here I am, enjoying a conversation and like the fact that her nose is not in her cell phone like other chicks. But then she asks me, "Do you have a Job?" I kind of was like wtf!?? But I answered with a yes and she said "very good and do you make good money??"

Man I got so angry for some reason and I just said "Excuse me but I have to finish my essay"

i don't know, maybe I was overreacting but damn that pissed me off big time when she asked me about money without even asking for my first name in the first place.

With that being said, was it bad that a question like that bothered or is it normal to ask ppl questions about money/job as a form of conversation? I ask because I know have a bit of a distorted perception of things + I wasen't as social as I am trying to be so Im not sure if my reaction was over the top or valid?

The job question is normal but it's usually phrased differently. "So what do yo do?" But it usually comes after knowing the person's name. lol

You are in the right. Its rude as shit to ask people/anyone how much they make or how much they paid for something.

She was probably trying to recruit you for a different job like Amway or something. At least find out why the question is asked before getting mad.

I admit that I get upset at petty things and I need to work on that but I thought that asking someone about their finanical status after knowing them for 10 minutes may mean that they are gold digger type characters.

Besides Im a person not a career fair.

I agree with you 100 percent! If she asked "so what do you do besides school" then that would lead me to tell her about work, hobbies and etc without the need to ask a question like that. Plus asking for my first name is also would have been nice too!

    You missed a golden opportunity.

Tell her some crazy shit like:

Then ask her if its really all about the money, and tell her you're lonely, and empty inside.

See if she get's uncomfortable.... gnome say'n?

    And then you say.....
Yes! I make ungodly amounts of money as a pimp, and I would love for another female specimen such as yourself to work for me full time.
