Warning

Anyone that is thinking of having cervical or lumbar surgery, do anything possible to avoid it. Many of times it doesn't work and in some cases it'll make it worse (that's me).

As many of you know I've had several surgeries. I just had a two level cervical fusion only 6 weeks ago (my 4th cervical fusion)! Today I got news that I'm having another. My whole damn neck is already fused!!!!! They going in through the back of my neck this time ( which is 100× more painful). Last time they went in through the back I was in the emergency room soon afterwards in the worst pain imaginable. Anyways, I just need to suck it up, once you start it never stops it seems. Use me as an example of what not to do. Smfh

I just needed to rant btw, thanks for taking the time to read, few understand, much luv.

Years of abuse, mainly racing motocross since very young. Also having a bad Dr working on me didn't help. He fucked me up good. Now I'm with a special kind of neurosurgeon (complex neurosurgeon) that specializes in fixing other dr's fuck up's. He's having to redo some of the other dr's stuff and fix some things that were overlooked.

sounds believable and bad, sorry.

Sending some extra good vibes all the way over to you my friend! Really sorry to hear that and I remember some chat about this stuff in one of the PBP's. Hope you can chill al bit during the holidays and enjoy that time! Best always 🙏

I got some shit going on in my neck and have bulged discs in L3,4, and L5. I get relief from injections in the Lumbar area, but i had some point injection in the muscle in my neck/shoulder and it did absolutely nothing ( which i expected ) but at least now insurance will pay for the MRI i already knew i needed.

Exactly, you're a smart dude. Wish I would've been a little smarter.
Pointless going down that rabbit hole, you did what we all would have.

I very much wish you the best of health and that this surgery gets you home and dry.

Tried, my Dr actually killed a nerve that goes to my right eye, it's called Horners syndrome. lawyers took my case. There's a panel of Dr's that look over the cases, mine was turned down. My lawyer told me that you have to practically die to prove gross negligence. I woke up from surgery and my eyelid wouldn't go up, my pupil doesn't dilate anymore, and I don't sweat on the right side of my face anymore, also my eye doesn't produce the moisture to lubricate the eyeball anymore. They paid to have my eyelid lifted though. Smh.

This next surgery is to remove the hardware in the back of my neck amongst some other stuff. My previous Dr who fucked up my eye actually misaligned the hardware, it's causing me crazy pain. Instead of being aligned with my spine its slanted by 25 degrees (I shit myself when they showed me my X-ray). Below is exactly what I have in back of my neck, I drew lines to indicate how mine are placed. Those lines aren't an exaggeration btw. After that surgery I couldn't sit up straight for a while. He caused me the most painful thing I've ever experience in my life.

Fucking wild. There but for the grace of god go I.

Wish you the best.

I have pain and numbness in face and hands but fear trying to resolve through medicine due to the horror stories re back and neck surgery. Luckily I've been able to fix most through rest and training but if I let up on the lifting it all gets fucked.

Good luck Sherbro, I've had one neck fusion and luckily it went well but I feel the docs will be suggesting more soon enough. I will say my wife is a director at a local hospital and handles a lot of data. When it was apparent I would need a fusion she said there are two doctors in this entire area that I'd let operate on you, and I'd be much happier with one over the other.

Basically she analyzes outcomes and out of all the local ortho doctors we have, she was only confident in the ability of two of them. It's a sad state of affairs.

If I start feeling numbness again I may try something radically holistic though. Surgery is necessary sometimes, but what else is a surgeon gonna recommend really. To a hammer everything is a nail etc etc.

Damn. Sorry to hear that.I can't imagine the frustration you must be feeling. Hope you can find some relief soon. And by all means, feel free to rant as much as you want.
