I used to complain about taking anti-inflammatories for a worn out tendon in my shoulder.I've had 4 neck fusions in the last 5 years. Tomorrow morning I go in for a 5th. My Dr is going through the back of my neck again. My last doctor actually misaligned the hardware by 20 degrees in the back of my neck, smh (Dr is taking the misaligned hardware out). This surgery cause extreme pain in my left arm which I never had. Anyways, I'm not looking forward to splitting those muscles apart again in back of my neck. Also he's gonna try and figure out what's making my C6 nerve so irritated. Below is a picture of me last time, he's reopening what you see below. Hopefully I won't have to call the ambulance this time to take me to the emergency room. Smdh.

Anti inflammatories use to work, I miss those days.I used to complain about taking anti-inflammatories for a worn out tendon in my shoulder.
After reading your so story and seeing that pic.....not so much anymore.
Hope things go well for you brother.
I would just crack and fold if I'd have to get those surgeries lol. But than no is not an option. And when you get sedated you just wake up to it all being over. I would freak out from fear if I like there and they bout to sedate me and do the surgery. Anything that is losing control and a risk that something might go wrong.I have an old root canal that eventually broke, they don't last. Instead of going have it fixed, I just lived with it. It's not worth it imo.
Btw this shit hurts like hell, anytime they go in through the back of the neck and separate your neck muscles from the base of your head to your shoulders it makes for one hell of painful recovery. I've had every kind of surgery in the book just about, this being the most painful. All because my previous Dr was too scared to go back in through the front due to scar tissue. My new complex neurosurgeon went through the front perfectly fine 5 months ago. Smh, all Dr's aren't created equal. The only reason we went through the back again was to take out the misaligned hardware that previous buffoon put in the back of my neck.
Your fear is validated, it can and it does go wrong. My previous Dr killed the nerve that goes to my right eye, had to have my eyelid lifted, pupil doesn't dilate, don't sweat on the right side of my face, crazy shit.I would just crack and fold if I'd have to get those surgeries lol. Yeah the spine is like a second brain, hence it's ilegal to strike it in combat.Your fear is validated, it can and it does go wrong. My previous Dr killed the nerve that goes to my right eye, had to have my eyelid lifted, pupil doesn't dilate, don't sweat on the right side of my face, crazy shit.
