Just started getting into this. Holy shit there are a ton of novels out there.

Playing Space Marine on my old Xbox 360 and its fun.

May try and find a local game shop that plays and give it a whirl.

I'd suggest you make sure to start small. See if anybody is playing Kill Team or Necromunda, either of which can be played with a single infantry box.

I've been slowly plugging away at my knight kit. I've got a bunch of stuff worked up that isn't really worth showing off, but I did just get the body setup so it will accept the interior. The implementation is still a little ugly, but everything fits. The only thing that needs to be modified is to cut off two small clips on the inside of the body (red circles). This mod takes less than a minute and isn't visible post-assembly so I think its acceptable. Not my ideal direct-fit, but it's a minuscule alteration that I can live with.

One thing I notice on the print is that you've got a lot of stringing. PLA is usually pretty good with that so you might want to check your retraction settings. I use a 1mm retraction at 40mm/s on mine and it does a good job keeping stringing to a minimum. You might also be printing at a higher temperature than is strictly necessary. The actual temp entered in your slicer will vary somewhat based on your hot end + sensor but PLA can be printed as low 180dC. I usually have my setting set at 200 for PLA. If you are 220+ you should try turning it down.

I've messed around with the settings a bit. Never seen much of a difference, to be honest. Currently I just run the prints at the highest presets:

220 ℃
Retraction length 1,3 mm
retraction speed 30 mm/s
base print speed 50 mm/s
travel speed 70 mm/s
layer height 0,08 mm

Which seems to fall within the safety margins of most recommendations I've seen online.
I did try lowering the temperature some, but never noticed any difference. Never went anywhere near as low as 180 ℃ though. Might have to try it, out of curiosity if nothing else.

I think the main reason the stringing gets so bad at times is that I tend to print numerous separate objects simultaneously. When you have an arm laid out at one end of the bed, and a body at the other, the extruder has to move long distances, and frequently. So I've tried to avoid that lately.

Made another model. Used repurposed parts from the rider I removed from that earlier model a couple of pages back ITT.

Botched the cloak (first time doing one though), and something's slightly off about the pose (especially the legs), and the base could use a bit more work. Plus the teletubbiness of the helm need no mentioning. The head is intended to be interchangeable with others, so that's less of a deal. Overall pretty happy with the result.

Work in progress: Magic summoning mirror style of fing. Lots of things need more work, especially the smoke (or whatever it is) holding the mirror up. That part is basically a placeholder. The dragon pose will be tweaked. The basic idea is that there will be a whole bunch of interchangeable monsters coming out of the mirror. You don't like the dragon, remove it and replace with an imp or zombie or giant orangutan or whatever.

So I haven’t played Dawn of War 1 in about 12 years but I really enjoyed it and am thinking of jumping back into it after discovering the existence of this Ultimate Apocalypse mod which looks amazing and totally insane:



Aside from adding new units and new even whole new factions (yay Tyranids!) it even adds Titan class units which is totally bananas.

Looks dope. I wonder if my mid-range 8 year old lap top could even handle it.

Seems they clash and while ragnar is basicaly crushed and loses an arm he takes ghazs head.
Ghaz being an ork is somehow saveable but is now in a huge robotic body
Ragnar of course gets the primaris treatment and lives

I was just looking into getting that high resolution resin printer I've been eyeballing since the fall and was figuring out all the other stuff I'd need to go with it...and all these panic buying mouthbreathers have bought up all the isopropyl alcohol! You need it to clean off the prints but due to covid-19 it's basically impossible to find 90%+ isopropyl.

With the corona shut-down I no longer have an excuse to not work on my warhound project. So I've started back up and am doing the weapons. I just grabbed one and ended up starting the flamer. Dicking around for an hour and a half:
