And just for comparison, here's the GW plastic for Daemon Magnus:

ahah id probably rather use forge world

GW just dropped a faq about the new edition which is coming (no date given, but sooner rather than later). Nothing we didn't really already know/could reasonably guess, but it's an interesting look at how differently they're handling community relations. For example they came right out and said all the rules in the current codexes are going to be invalidated so you shouldn't buy any of them unless you really want them for the current content.

I think one of the most important details from the announcement is that they are redoing the rules for every single model in the game all at once. This hasn't happened since...3rd edition I think (and even then I don't think it all happened simultaneously). Every other time since then when a new edition had rolled around the old codexes just limped along with outdated rules and many factions got left to rot. The fact that they're redoing everything all at once (and will be doing annual updates) seems like they're finally realizing that good rules are really important. In the past GW has adamantly stated that they are a miniatures company, and the the rules were secondary. But that ignores that shitty rules make people play less and playing less ultimately results in buying less.

Honestly, I don't care that much about the rules. Or the board game for that matter.

I'm in it for the fluff.

Also, the miniature and the video games.

Forgeworld model needs more nipple horns. I'm looking forward to the GW daemon primarchs. Mortarion should be out shortly and hopefully they do the others in the next couple of years.

Magnus is known for his nipple horns (or sometimes just chest horns) since John Blanche first did an illustration of him. Plus the model looks unbalanced with all the stuff around his head.

I was really surprised by the lack of the niporns, though I can't say I really miss them (always thought it was a really weird look); seems like it's a good way to put more difference between the two kits.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get two more god-specific releases for Angron and Fulgrim with updated cult kits and daemons.

The GW Magnus kit is probably twice as tall as FW's Magnus, there's no confusing them. GW need to bring back Slaanesh in AoS so there'll probably be a month/quarter of AoS/40k Slaanesh releases in the future like when they did Tzeentch earlier. And they love Khorne and they're part of the big 4 so that's a lock. It'll be interesting to see who they bring back from the good Primarchs and what the time table for that is.

The rumor of bigger marines also looks to be true

Yeah, I saw that pic. I think they look good so far, the proportions look much more natural (though I don't know how much of that is just from not having splayed out legs).

For good primarchs I think The Lion and The Wolf are both locks to show up, especially since both of them have well established lines of unique models and their own codex. I wouldn't put it past them to reincarnate Sanguinius somehow but I hope they leave him dead.

Speaking of proportions, I've always felt that this was one of the better proportioned Space Marines in art:

Some of the non-cartoony serious and grimdark art, especially with termies just looks dumb as fuck because you've got this dude walking around in "armor" with his head where his belly button should be.

So i played Dawn of war 3 with @Chubz

My god it is the most awful fucking game i've ever played. God damn mess, yes im ragey

Truescale space marines gave me a raging hard-on. Also I am craving plastic Demon Fulgrim and new Slaaneshi miniatures. Noize marines are boss.

I seem to remember that picture being used for the UM version of the limited edition 6th ed codex. All the ones for that release were really good. This was the one for Salamanders:

Can confirm. Dawn of War 3 is garbage. One of the worst "major" RTS games I have ever played, and by far Relic's worst game to date.

I liken it to Command & Conquer 4. It brings nothing to the table that fans actually wanted, and what it does bring to the table is complete shit.
