Warhammer 40k

Ok, so, an offer for anyone interested

(who has access to a 3D-printer):

I've recently published a bunch of miniature megapacks. We're talking oodles of minis, more than 100 in total. I've only printed a fraction of them myself, and when packaging them I ended up cutting some corners to save time. I've run some stress tests and gotten some feedback from customers, but I'm still a bit worried there might be technical issues with them. Maybe certain slicing softwares can't handle the cut corners, et cetera.

If anyone itt would like a heap of free .stl models (that look relatively okay-ish in a certain light), I could give it to you in return for you printing a couple of the models and telling me if you experienced any issues.

I'm mainly interested in hearing about technical issues, like models not loading properly in the slicer software, supports not being added properly et cetera- anything out of the ordinary.

I've got three megapacks to choose from. You can get all three of them if you'll reciprocate by printing at least 3-4 models (preferably one from each megapack).

I've included some pictures in this post, and links to the products if you want to look at more images or read more about the models.

Respond itt or pm me or whatever if you're interested.

What 3d Printer do you use?

I am debating getting a resin one to go with my PLA printer (Ender 3)

I just saw on Steam that Vermintide 1 was on deep discount at only $3 so I decided to pick it up. Went to install it...and the fucking thing is 50GB! WTF?!?! This has got to be one of most poorly optimized games ever, at least as far as storage is concerned. I went back to look at the store page's requirements and it lists 30GB, so they're a big fat liar. It's only $3 but I'm considering requesting a refund without even installing it.

Did it include dlc?

Just the base game, but I assume there are DLC files included in that total just due to the nature of the game (if you get paired with somebody with a DLC character you need to have their model even if you don't own it).

It's a fun game, I sank a lot of hours into it but yeah, poorly optimized. If you have the space then give it a go.

I have two printers: a Flashforge Finder and a Da Vinci Nano. Both filament printers on the cheaper end of the spectrum. I mainly use the Flashforge.

I can't really say much about resin printers, but if I were to buy another printer today I would probably go with a resin one. Judging from what I've seen on teh internet, you get slightly better quality prints using resin. Filament printing seems to have a hard cap on fidelity due to restrictions inherent to the tech, regardless of what price tier you choose.

Having used a filament printer for a while, I've also run into a couple of maintenance issues that (I hypothesize) resin printers don't have. Main issue I have is I keep running into problems with the filament not feeding. Not only is it a recurring problem, it is also hard to diagnose the cause. Resin printers sidestep that issue completely. Resin printers might require a little more work per print overall, but they also seem a little less prone to stop working entirely.

Sayama, the man behind Astartes got picked up by Games Workshop. Seems they finally reached out to some fan animators to bring them in the fold. Excited to see what they are gonna produce.

I never got into the boardgames, played some totalwar warhammer at most but the lore is really intriguing and I think they could make some decent money with proper movie or something within the 40k universe

Progress on the warlord continues. Here it was last time you saw it:

Here it is now:

I've got all of the base painting and varnishing complete. Next step is glueing the lower shoulder armor in place (not yet seen in any pictures, too heavy to blue-tac it in place for progress shots) and some random detail painting. After that...is iconography, which I'm still not sure what I want to do with. Might skip it for now and do the base instead.

Vermintide's optimization is a blessing compared to Cyberpunk 2077

Honestly that would be the main thing that might tempt me back in GW after 20+ years, putting long term work in on a large model like that or an Eldar titan.

What actually are the rules around this kind of stuff in 40K now? I remember the old tank charts and indeed the Titan charts in epic or is it just wounds?

In standard 40k I believe it is wounds with a degradation chart, so its stats go down as it takes damage. I don't think there's anything like the old glance/penetrate tables or any kind of system targeting.

That does seem a little too simple for me personally, I'd be inclined to come up with house rules were different parts of the model had their own stats.

So say you needed an ultra heavy weapon to have any chance of actually killing it by taking out the head/body/legs but somewhat lighter weapons could degrade its weapons individually.
