Better boxer than Jones and Gus? I don't agree. Doesn't mean Stipe can't crack DC but I think DC has been in there with comparable boxers. Maybe not guys with as much power but at the same time Gus and Jones are faster.

He's a national golden gloves quarter finalist -- he is a better boxer than both Gus and Jon.

4 Roses
Bookers
Glenfidditch (fucked the spelling there I am sure)
Basil Hayden's

Are my go to "nice" booze. For cheap mixer whisky? Jack

If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend Buffalo Trace. At $25 it's the best value out there imo.

Also, Booker's and Basil Hayden are both in the Jim Beam distillery family, so I'm kinda surprised you go to Jack for cheap. I prefer Jim Beam to Jack.

Also, Cormier isn't giving himself near enough time to put on weight/strength.

If he was GSP, this fight would have a tentative date of March 28, 2027.

Who does everyone have in DC/Stipe? @Lead, @Fawlty, @kpt018, @JudoThrowFiasco, etc.

I keep thinking that at Cormier's age, he's going to suddenly lose it, but no real signs of it that I can see yet.

Other important question. How much does either of these guys winning do to their ranking all time with their careers? Like DC pretty much has a perfect record to me but the Jones fights will always underrate him. Stipe just became the long reigning UFC HW Champ and gets a chance to beat a guys who seemed to be voluntarily leaving a division he could've controlled cause of a training partner.

I agree, but...

They are both faster than Stipe. Jon controls distance the best of all 3, and has a lot of unorthodox weapons on the feet. Gus has better kicks and movement than Stipe. So, I think they are all good strikers that present their own challenges, but I don't think Stipe will outclass Cormier on the feet based on what he(Cormier) has shown against those other 2.

I think Jon probably beats Stipe as well, and Gus keeps it interesting.

This is why they need to revamp and add a 215 weight class.

New ownership might guarantee champ vs. champ fight at least once a year.
That would be awesome. I'm ready for them to clear Jones at this point as well. I always root against that fucker, but god damn, he is so fucking amazing in the cage. I'm still butthurt about the beating he put on Shogun, and that was 7 years ago. I still can't watch it.

Stipe is a much better boxer and golden gloves don't even factor into my equation.

"I am using my longest weapon --the kick, to hit the nearest target -- the kneecap." -Bruce Lee

Jones actually fights with Lee's philosophy. I bring this up because Jones may be a better overall striker. Kicks are his main weapon. "To reach me you must move to me." Then Lee goes into how eyepokes are one of the best weapons and if you are in a sub to bite the fucker. lol.

In primary freedom, one utilizes all ways and is bound by none, and likewise uses any techniques or means which serves one's end.

Completely disagree on what DC has shown on his feet. He's got one of the best chins in the UFC and relies on that heavily when closing the distance. He doesn't even tuck his chin much, just extends his arms out to avoid looping punches and then walks in.

Stipe has a fantastic 1-2 that he throws down the pipe. And his a D1 wrestler that is going to be hard to take down. GUS and Jon were both able to stifle DC. They may be faster but technical boxers, imo, are going to be DC's roadblock. Especially when they have that much range and a wrestling background.

Love me some DC, one of my favorite fighters and a p4p goat -- but Stipe is a nightmare matchup.

DC had best not come in doing that weird noob arm flailing thing where he tries to stifle punches from the outside (I'm not actually knocking it- it works damn well), because Stipe will just step back and blast him. He keeps his hips back really well when he needs to. I like DC's chances of getting inside if he can establish his right hand as a threat (he'll have to trade and land against the better guy, but he's capable of it), but I hate his chances if he has to swim his way inside.

Both have huge balls taking the fight -- love fighters who are willing to put this sort of legacy on the line, especially when they are both seemingly in the their prime

I actually don't get the current argument for a middle division. All these guys that hold the belt are usually way below 265. 225-245 seems like the sweet spot. If you are under 225, you can cut usually to make 205.

Either of these guys winning would add a bunch to their legacy. DC would arguably be an all time GOAT and Stipe would go up the HW GOAT rankings.I think DC has more to gain going up a weight class but for Stipe he'd be adding more to his lead in HW title defenses which is great too.
