Like, there IS admittedly the greedy as fuck part of me that feels if someone has NO employment history them getting social security pisses me off. Like, if you want a chunk of said pie I feel like contributing to it some has to happen....

But not being taxed after your first 117k a year? WHAT MANNER OF FUCKERY IS THIS?!
If you tax higher than that, those people will pay way over the amount of any benefits they could get back.

@Jack V Savage

Who are your favorite journalists right now? And I don't mean analysts/commentators like Yglesias or Chait.

@Falsedawn
I know you're a reddit guy. Saw an amusing post over the weekend. It's about how Fox News has twisted history to convince their viewers that liberals are modern day Nazis, but the kicker is that it's written in the style of a conspiracy theorist shitpost.

<Deported1>

Spoiler that shit at least.

Too much info, what are you, one of them phaggy commie book reading types who don't use FACTS and LOGIC?
Lol @ cucks that research information instead of just knowing things

@BarryDillon have you heard of people paying their mortgage biweekly as opposed to monthly?

I saw an article that it will drastically cut down on the amount of interest you pay and can shave 4-5 years off of a 30 year mortgage

The minimum SS payout is laughably low, dude. Let's say a person works 11 qualifying years, (making $15k) which is the minimum. How much do they get per month? Like 40 bucks. If you don't contribute, you don't qualify.
I really wish they'd get the SSD benefits out of the SS office to limit this goddamn confusion. I've seen plenty of able bodied people collecting SSI and shit that are pleading to felony charges that don't get a job because "I would lose my benefits then"

You could just pay an additional 8.5% monthly to the principle and get the same benefit. That way, if something happens and times get tough, you will have a little slack in your budget.

Did you research the possibilities of ending up with a yellow card when you had your emotional outburst?

Speaking of which, this top mind just knows that I must have gotten my infraction from an emotional outburst, so he doesn't have to look into how I actually got it. Why waste time researching when its easier to just know things, amirite?

To be honest I know very little about carding as I have full 100% immunity on this entire forum.

One of the secret benefits of being totally irrelevant. Good job.

Thanks, right after I asked the question our mortgage guy called me and said the same thing

I actually run the show. Your friends can tell you all about it if you ask.

Yeah, if you tax somebody on 250k of earnings for Social Security, they'll never see a benefit from that. People really don't like that- at least when they pay into the big pot, they know that they are benefiting from those taxes, and how that money is distributed is just a matter of policy. With SS tax, overpaying would be more directly like just taking your money and giving to somebody else. I think that's what we should do, but I understand why that would piss people off.

If you make a quarter of a mil a year though.. you mean you can't hire someone to privately invest and create a nest egg?

I have a pension from WA, an IRA from my old job, and now my new IRA from my new job and I've never made over 50k a year...

Yeah pretty much, but then again that's far from being rich these days. That's just being comfortable and having a nice home, nice cars, nice trips, and being able to save and invest and send your kids to a good college. Far from luxurious.

Pete buttigieg raised almost 25million 2nd quarter.

Guess the 12 yr old ain't going anywhere

That's one of those "once you see it, you can't unsee it" things. Look at this:

5 years ago, like when he was vice president?

I kind of feel sorry for democrat politicians. They spend all their time trying to pander and cobble together votes from every individual intersectional group so they can live in their politician bubble and avoid being a real person.

Got 18 likes from dumb posters. Rationality makes one inauthentic and bad. When you see defenses of Trump that cite his "honesty" (he lies all the time, but because he's vulgar and irrational, that's seen as more authentic), that's more of the same. Likewise for people who said that Clinton wasn't "honest" despite her record of rarely saying untrue things. Ultimately, that's what the immigration debate is about, too, which is why liberals are wasting their times by trying to bring logic and evidence into it (as I did in response to @ElKarlo). It all comes down to impulse with these people and a certain kind of "authenticity."

When I was young I wanted to be like, filthy rich.

All I want now is to own my own damn house.
