Being a loving, compassionate person is like being a courageous, strong, smart, good, or funny person. If you have to tell people that you are, you probably aren't.

I do have a wife. Not "their"---only one.

Anger is in the nature of women. Men must lead them to perfect peace.

I’m not even positive what that term means exactly, but I know she’s not a slut. Just out of curiosity, was that based on her being an attorney or being an Olympic weightlifter? Those were literally the only two things you knew about her. Would you still label someone you’ve never met in such a way?

I don't remember this. Link to exchange?

I found it pretty rude, and regarding “real men” I’m positive it’s not something you would say with the exception of over the internet without having met her and I. I don’t think it’s a particularly “masculine” trait to snipe from the sidelines at people who aren’t around. It seems to me you have some issues with women. And I say that with good intentions, I generally have liked interacting with you, but that was one instance where my eyebrows were certainly raised in a negative way.

Seems like a large misunderstanding, but I'll reserve judgment until I see the exchange.

True.

Are you seriously deranged? One word is "piping hot shit"? Are you drunk?

Once again , how fucked in the head are you? Or is all this projection? I'm not a white genocide guy or think we're being persecuted. My position, my only position, on identity politics is to ignore inherent characteristics and focus on ideas and behaviour. That is, in areas where we're equals. And men and women aren't equal physically.

Edit for clarifications sake : this convo brought to you by Falsedawn from this thread- https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/...rack-championship-for-women-so-brave.3964107/ where he's equating advocating men playing in women's leagues with AA.

Cool story skud, I'm sure you'll be seeing it again.

Well, to your credit, you've never described yourself as self-aware. Carry on.
I know that you are attempting to criticize me, but it's falling flat. I am self-aware, and I have never described myself as "loving" or "compassionate". I told Homer @BarryDillon that I love him because I do. I love you too, even though Satan is your daddy.

For @Jack V Savage , I wouldn't want you to miss this

Ohhhh my god, Dore is terrible. I wasn't a fan before, but I caught about 50 seconds of this interview where he was just slobbing on Paul for opposing certain conservative reactions while compounding their sources. Cool, he personally opposes the War on Drugs and invasion of Iraq. Doesn't really matter when the things he does support - accumulation of capital, exertion of influence of capital over government, economic inequality - lead to the conditions precedent to those sort of things.

@kpt018 @Jack V Savage @Fawlty
By the way, a comment section on a Vox article today about the differences between Sanders and Warren remind me just how lopsided (I felt) the post-2016 war of words has been between Sanders surrogates and opponents within the left coalition. There was some outlets like The Atlantic where the pretentiousness, character assassination, and unearned arrogance of the commenters (not the authors) led me to unfollow the outlet for a bit. Here, despite what i can see is a burgeoning narrative about Sanders supporters and the left wing of the party bullying everyone and overstepping norms of cordiality, the Warren-supporters are very clearly much more negative/divisive, while Sanders' supporters are comparatively positive.

But I don't know how to link a Facebook comment section, so you'll just have to look it up if you're so inclined.

It may have been a misunderstanding, as I said I felt it was insinuated and not a direct accusation. I’m not going to dig for it and will take your confusion here to mean it was a misunderstanding on my part.

So for my education what exactly would the definition of a battle slut be? My cursory search didn’t yield much. Could it be indicated simply by career or interests/hobbies? I mean, I know what a slut is of course but I’m assuming it’s something else or something additional to that.

I'm confident that I meant no ill intent by whatever I wrote to you.

Battle sluts:

“When occasions present themselves in which the interests of the people are at variance with their inclinations, it is the duty of the persons whom they have appointed to be the guardians of those interests to withstand the temporary delusion in order to give them time and opportunity for more cool and sedate reflection.”

― Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist No. 71

The macroeconomy is far too complicated for any human to model accurately. If you can accept that, then you can see why Keynes could have gotten some features right while missing other big pieces.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about his comments on debt and how he thinks that the gov't is lying about inflation.

I believe that men and women are biologically distinct. I believe this extends to psychology. I believe that in the absence of good men, most women feel lost. I believe that males have largely abandoned their traditional roles (standing up to evil, providing financially for their families, teaching skills and values to the next generation), which is destroying women.

First two, OK. Second is vague enough that one can't argue. Why do you believe the last?

My general take is that things are getting better along all of those lines (you can argue about financially), but there's a lot of progress still needed. But I'd say that a problem that has been with us forever can't be a crisis.

I know you'll probably bring up Trump, but even that seems to be rebellion against progress rather than something new.

That's not very nice, Jack. Have you forgiven your mother?

What did she do this time?

Homer, I meant what I wrote with love and sincerity. I have noticed that Jack lashes out sometimes in apparent anger. I am reminded in particular of the time he told @Cubo de Sangre to kill himself.

I think you are intentionally misrepresenting that exchange. It was an objective statement about his duty rather than some kind of lashing out.

This was the case when I came up through K-12. It was acknowledged that Stalin was a total monster but the focus was Hitler. I don't know what kids' history textbooks look like today. I think it's also easier to teach Hitler as his motives were more nefarious, more obviously evil. Whereas Stalin was a worst-case scenario tyrant, Hitler's megalomania was much greater. In any case, by the time we grow up we get the gist of the horror that was Stalin. The figure we don't spend enough time on is Mao, imo. Very interesting & complicated where Hitler and Stalin were quite straightforward.
Mao to me the way I learned about him came across like a complete dumbass.

Yes, let's have a cultural revolution where we melt down our woks to make guns. Oh, the guns don't work? Well shit... wait... you mean we don't have a way to process food now either? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

Operation Unthinkable

It would have been one of the most colossal losses of life ever, especially since nukes would have been on the table. Very slim odds, but things would have been way different if they had tried it. Not even sure who would win.
Shoulda dropped the Nagasaki bomb on Stalingrad.

Take out his fucking namesake city IMO.

Paul defines "inflation" as the expansion of the money supply.

Why do you believe the last?
The out-of-wedlock birth rate is a verifiable proxy. Otherwise, my observations in traveling around country and the world and meeting 1000s of people.

What did she do this time?
Turned you against your father.
